Some people that's never used a big blade don't understand the advantages of having one in hand. That's 12" of badass 3v from CPK, it's the Behemoth
Facts. Big blades, especially well done big blades are amazingly useful. From fine up close shaving to taking a tree down, used as leverage to lift, baton larger wood, I could go on and on.

I can't think of any task a small knife might need to do in "survival" that a larger knife could not. None have been provided, either.

Let me ask you:

Why do you think they make smaller knives if “large knives can do anything smaller knives can do”?

Different blades for different purposes.
YOU set the parameters of 1 knife. In YOUR scenerio, a big knife can be pressed into small knife tasks and do quite well at them. A small knife CAN NOT do big knife tasks. I don't know how many times this has been reiterated.

I already told you a medium sized knife can chop down a tree, it just takes longer. What? What do you got that you still want to argue about? You just going to keep arguing with me until I agree that a 14” knife is better? Not going to effing happen. You like your 14” knife, I like by 4.5” knife. What is left to argue? At this point, just drop it already. I’m not going to agree with you that the larger knife is better.

Taking longer = expending unnecessary energy.

Oh wait, that’s your reasoning for not using a big knife, it’s heavier and would “waste” your energy.

Remember when I said you like putting people in a catch 22 scenario? You just like the back and forth don’t you.

Here we go again.

Yes, it’s simple physics. Larger knives require more energy to use and carry than smaller knives. You having trouble understanding that?

I never, not once in this thread used the number 14". Why do you keep bringing that up when speaking to me?

You set the parameters, you don't like or want to acknowledge that a larger blade has more uses than a smaller knife. I don't know what to tell you.

How much experience do you have with larger blades? From what maker? In what terrain?

You comment on things you have no experience with frequently. Not a good look.

Also, you are incapable of seeing why you end up getting rode by everyone. Which means you'll repeat this until no one here wants you around and you eventually get bamned.

So by your logic the smaller knife requires less energy. So take a esee izula and chop a tree down. Then grab a cpk chopper and see which one takes more energy.

One is less efficent and will require infinitely more energy. Bad logic.

You take 35 chops with your smaller knife and I take 10 with the larger one. Which is more efficient?

You want to argue to the death about knife size. I merely said there are pros and cons to someone early on and it sent you into a damn spiral of arguing.

No, I just don’t care. I chose the option that best suits me. You don’t agree? Tough sh*t.

None of your business. I’m not getting into a survivalist pissing contest with you.

You assume much about people you don’t know. You shouldn’t.
Also, you are incapable of seeing why you end up getting rode by everyone.
2 or 3 of your buddies isn’t “rode by everyone”. Just because you got a little gaggle of people ganging up and sh*tposting doesn’t mean the entire forum is team Shiney Edges, so drop the 2nd grade playground routine.
Which means you'll repeat this until no one here wants you around and you eventually get bamned.
Again with the “no one likes you and you’re going to get banned” bullsh*t. Debate the topic or get lost. Tired of your grade school bully routine.

Every single thread you start and many of the ones you post in go down the gutter. And it is everyone else, not you?

You are not worth my time. Keep going 👍
I've seen many like you come and go 🙂

The title of the thread states what blade length is best for a survival situation.

Most votes are for a 5"-8"+ larger blade. Most comments and reasons shared have highlighted why.

It would be interesting to see counter points on why smaller is better. I am always open to new methods or interpretations.
