Man...what a debacle. (Head shaking)
Here’s how I perceive all BF transactions...unless money has exchanged hands...no deal is in place. Seller has the right to change price at anytime...even in the middle of negotiations. In this particular case, shipping to Canada requires a US seller to physically go to the post office and fill out customs forms. This is time...and time is money. Or perhaps the seller didnt want the hassle and decided to up the price of the knife to its original asking price to deter the buyer from buying. Which is fine. Sucks, but thats how it goes.
As a Canadian buyer, I can see how it is disconcerting to have the price elevated because our dollar sucks and a $50US increase is almost $70 Can. But, if the buyer doesnt like the terms, then no need to buy. Part ways, like respectful men. There is absolutely no need to drag someones name through the mud if no deal has gone down.
Its just a knife...I’d be more concerned about my human dignity.
You guys need to bury the hatchet. You aren’t helping your cases at all here, because there was no deal, therefore no case to be had.
ETA: My opinion...seller does not have to defend himself, and the buyer should have paid the price, or moved along.
For all reading this thread...not all Canadian buyers are this way when purchasing from the USA. Please don’t be quick to judge us based on this one case.
