September BOTM

Wow, yep. Our seasons are very distinct in Temps and humidity. This year forecast is possible heavy snow. 10 years or so ago we received 100 inches in 3 weeks.
Gosh and Golly Gee, Willie Kerrs! That's enough white stuff to make pedal tracks with your bicycle! You so lucky. :)
I wish we got that much in South Central Idaho. I ain't been able to make pedal tracks since I were a young lad "growing up" in Iowa. :(

This black box arrived in the mail today.

My Buck order email tells me I have a package delivered to my house . I can’t wait to get home. My son was in town at noon so I had him go by and get it in case it was on the front steps. I ain’t letting it set out in the wide open.

@ OLD Biker:
Nice canoe. Wooden craft are cool.
I'm assuming you built it...?
That is a level of woodwork most folks couldn't complete.
Nice job.
Show us when it's done please.

Nice knife too, but I really like the canoe. Thx.

Got mine today also.
I received my knife today. Looks great! I am however a bit disappointed that it came with significant blade play in the vertical direction. I know that the lock is adjustable and that should take care of it. The other marksman I had never needed to be adjusted.

Not good that you have blade play. Mine arrived today a well. No play in any direction. I had forgotten what a nice knife this is. They did a nice job on the G10. Same weight as the Vantage but somehow feels significantly lighter in the hand.

I adjusted the lock and now the play is all gone. It’s good to hear yours did not have any play. I can’t wait to get some carry time on this one. It’s going to be a great user.

got mine. its defective though so going back. blade hits back spacer and is cut into it. doesn't hit the blade stop pin. tolerance is off or something, but a beautiful knife.......sure will come back perfect on 2nd try......

Jb sir the blade looks longer! Or maybe the handle is short. Mine sure don’t go that close to the end of the blade well. Hope they get you fixed up !

its not. it doesn't stop and folds into the handle freely until it hits the spacer there.

Yes I'm building it. I wouldn't say built yet, because it's not finished. I got the rails and decks finished installed today. In the morning the epoxy should be cured. Then a little more sanding and it should be ready for finish . I have some spar urethane. It needs at least two coats of that inside and outside. Three coats would be better. Then I can hang the thwart and seats. Meantime I have to finish caning the seats. It's 14 feet long or close to that. I'm hoping that it will weigh less that 40 pounds.

I'll post some pictures up in "The anvil shed" thread when it is finished. I hope that will be before the end of this week.

when I saw it i thought four things,
- nicely done
- wheres the seats:)
-how much is it gonna weigh
-if I had that on my front porch some neighborhood kids would have stolen it and had it in the river down the street, man is he lucky the kids near him are better behaved.......:D

looks good, very impressive and the weight too.

Looking at the BOTM 830 compared to the SK 830, I like the scales better on the Inferno. I love the stepped chamfering on the scales over the flat blocked edges on the blue boy.

I do like the blue/black G10! Now, if mine would just get here, I can compare them in person!!

Actually the stern seat is in the third picture I posted earlier above. The knife, it's box and paperwork are sitting on it. It's 1/2 to 2/3 the way through the caning process there.
