I didn´t want to open the knife and let the cats cut on the blade, so I kept it closed.

s-k: A great looking penknife!

basser: the stag on that R. Klaas is really great looking!

That's great-- thanks!

Inspired, I attempted to return the favor (and carried my own Carl Schlieper today thereafter):

and on afternoon, I gonna carry a C. Schlieper Muskrat :)

The knife is an OTTER-Messer knife with a sheepsfoot blade with wood covers. The knife's shield is a brass anchor - just the ticket for me as I was in the U.S. Navy for 24-years. The blade is carbon steel yet the bolsters and liners are stainless steel as is the spring.

The knife was a gift from Humppa (Andi).

"A.W. Wadsworth" and "W.H. Morley(+/- & Sons)" were not real people. These names were made up by Adolph Kastor who as well as owning Camillus, was a major importer of knives from about 1876 to WW II. The Wadsworth & Morley branded knives were made in Germany and imported during the early 1900's. Presumably Mr. Kastor thought that anti-German sentiment might hinder sales so he chose these very British sounding names.
