Seriously, I hate this blade forum . . .

I already had 3 folders before I found this place. Now in the past week, I've already bought 4 more off various selling members (yikes).

Is there a support group for folding knife buyers like there is for AA???

I'm already seeing myself "standing up at a meeting for my introduction . . . "My name is expidia1 and Im here because I have a problem that I can't stop buying knives"

I was going to stop at 5 (I told my son), now Im up to seven. Sad part is I just told myself that I might as well stop at 10 now, because 10 is such a nice round number

It is self solving once your bank account is empty and credit cards maxed :)
We all joke about it, but on the serious side some really do have a problem much like any other addiction.

I looked it up. Only starting around $675! Chump change.

The non damascus versions can be had for 425 for a large and 370ish for a small. You can probably get a good deal on a used one here on the used section too.

Here is a small Sebenza 21 (top) with a large inkosi (the sebenza’s sister knife at the bottom) so you can see a size comparison between a large and small Chris Reeve knives.

Small sebenza 21 blade length is 2.9 inches. Large inkosi (and large 21) is 3.625 inches.

These Chris Reeves are pretty much considered the nicest production knives you can get. It is also a knife for life because you can send it in for excellent warranty service. You can get the blade replaced for cheap should you break it. You can also send it in for “spa” service, which means they refinish your crk knife and make it look brand new. Peefect if you want to sell it.

thanks. i do have 3 more to get to my 10 rounded off collection. I’ll be watching that knife for sale by individual thread closely now.0

. . . but in all seriousness, take quality over quantity. . . .

That's what I'm trying to do. I just joined this forum and I've been jonesing for a really good knife. My typical behavior is to try to save a few bucks, and as a result I wind up NOT getting what I really wanted. In the long run, it costs more.

So, for my knife I decided to buy the one I really wanted, and bought a Benchmade 940.

Trust me it is better to buy a few 300$ and a 500$ knife than to buy a 50$ or 80$ knife every week and end up with 20 50$ knives.

You need a baker's dozen ;)
7 for each day of the week
2 for back up
4 for selling, trading that rotate off the seven for each day of the week. That way, you can have a fresh supply without acquiring a butt load of knives. Keeps momma somewhat happy and you don't have to worry about her worrying about you and your addiction o_O. Unless, you're a hoarder and can't bring yourself to part with any.

I think it is when you get into traditional knives, your wallet will really start to hate this place... There are so many patterns and variations of each pattern it begins to feel like a game of pokemon and you "gotta catch em all" I buy so many antique knives now from flea markets and stuff just because you can get cool old knives for under 15 bucks all day long that way that are of decent quality. Before you know it you know it you are like me and have 20 antique slipjoints, a dozen case knives, a entire collection of the same knife basically made in different time periods or different companies, or the same pattern in different handle colors and sizes, and then all your modern folders on top of that... Im sitting at over 40 I think not including my cheapo knives. I only use half of them at most....

Hey op! If You're go in' down,

Kidneys are a nessitity but I really think you can live without your gall bladder. Unfortunately there's not much call for them.
Prolly get the Damascus Sebbie for a lung? :)

One a week is a nicer round number unless you're saving for that huge one a month purchase that is out of this world.
I'm saving for the once a year out of this world purchase! But I still need some nice ones while I wait!

Wow what you said above is making more sense to me. I even said to my son I was going to stop at 5 because there are 5 business days in a week and you wouldn’t your father to be seen with the same EDC each day . . . Thats just barbaric!

I like your thinking. 2 for back up. Funny, I have a BM 490 Arcane for a gentlemans carry. I saw another one for sale a day or two ago here so I bought it for a backup for $135. For the weekends I go boating so I reserved two of my less expensive stash for those two days incase I drop one in the drink.

Lastly, Im liking the 4 for selling or trading this way I don’t keep just acummulating more knives without a game plan.
I know you said it tongue in cheek, but this works for me. Now to find 3 more knives:(

Now thats a kniiifa (catch that croc dundee inflection there)
How many minutes would Crocodile Dundee last walking around in times square with his croc sticker hanging of his belt nowadays?

I did ya one better. I picked up a 940 here ($160) and then a 940-1 ($230) saw one go for $175 just a day before. luv the green and that purple spacer on the 940. I like that carbon fiber look along with its blue spacers. I just ordered a matching blue titanium pocket clip for it off amazon.

I’m telling ya this place is dangerous to view the knives for sale by individuals thread because many are new in box or hardly used and at a big savings over even the discounted online knife shops.
