Setting up shop, may need advice on a few things

I will try to see if I can get my hands on thouse, the local bookshop was not able to get them home.
So I will most likely have to find them 2nd hand, either a english or swedish version. Finnish will be little help to me, and my german is fairly poor. Not sure I feel the need, to learn all the german technical terms.
Im still learning the english terms, keeping track of swedges, choils, ricasso, bolsters, spacers and what not is already a mouthfull :D

My bad, he was Sweedish.
You can only find them used as far as I know. Once in a while I will find one in mint condition. Mint brings as much as $250USD. Fair condition brings $50USD.

I did some searches and see several other books by him in Swedish.

I have been able to find a few of his books in swedish, but it will have to wait till next month as I spend my "fun" budget for this month.

The guard/bolster is slowly getting there, done with the 800 grit and ready to dip in ferric chloride.

Gave it 10 minutes in the acid, as I did with the blade.

Still not happy with the handle end, so I will try to "flatten" the butt a little more.
Then I guess it will be time to give the handle some oil, let the blade and bolster sit in coffee.
Put everything together, give it a polish and put an edge on it.

Final coat of oil, it's been soaking in a primer oil for a few days as I don't have a vacuum setup.
Air dried for 24 hours, now the final top coat will harden.
Giving the handle a strong and long lasting finish, that will repell water and protect the wood.
Im using a two part marine hardwood oil, that I have had good succes using on my boat.

I wasn't happy with the final coating, so ended up redoing the final coating.
Im used to work with this oil in the summer, and then it's not an issue but in the garage in November.
It makes a great deal, preheating the final oil layer so it only make a thin film layer. First try looked and felt more like a bad epoxy coating, and that was a shame.
I could have polished it, but the natural feeling of the woodgrain was totaly gone.

For my 3rd knife and first damascus blade, im pretty happy with the turnout of this project.

Id like to say thank you to everyone here, who have been helping me out along this knife build. You all ROCK, thanks for being you!
It will be a little while before I can get started on the next project, as life sometimes flip everything upside down in good and bad ways.
Long story short, I am moving to Spain trying to setup for me and the misses retirement. (She got another 4 years left to retirement)

Got a phone call, two days later; here I am with a booked ticket to the beginning of a new and different life.
Simply my retirement will go alot longer in Spain, and nice to get away from the wet and dark winters here.
Packing up some tools, skii's, fishing equipment and other bare essentials and shipping it all to Spain before Christmas.

Summer in Spain tho, is way too hot for this Viking. So the plan is to sail in the summer, and in 4 years when the misses retire.
We plan to sell the house here, buy a bigger Sail boat and simply live in the boat when we ain't in Spain.

You should be proud.

Talisker 25 is an excellent Islay. Next to Balvenie 21, it is one of my favorites.

Thank you very much sir, I am and looking forward to see if I can do it again.

I have not tried Belvenie 21 yet, but just finished a Port cask Talisker 12 not long ago.
I will give it a try Belvenie 21, next time I pick up a bottle of whisky.
