Freewheeling, a comment and a question:

- You asked "What do you think?" I think you're a nut, but that's another subject. If you want to put 4 clips at a time on your knives, go for it.
- Why are you derailing your own thread?

I don't understand. I thought what you think was the subject we were on but you say "I'm" derailing the thread? Oh well, life's funny. Actually it got started when some guy named "greeenie" got righteously offended about my mounting two inexpensive clips on my knife and couldn't manage to keep from saying something rude just for the shock value. To which, to my chagrin, I replied more or less in kind. Then Stick decided he was also offended/outraged but rather than cop to it he got fancy and oblique about it, which is his wont apparently. Anyway, this back and forth raising of stakes has got to me... a pattern that shall not be named, because I'm pretty tired of it and it's Greek.

Conflicts aren't complicated. Starts with envy, proceeds through resentment, and escalates unless someone calls a halt. But if someone has something *constructive* to say about dual clips on the ZT Hinderer, besides paying $120 for genuine Hinderer clips... well, I won't hate you for it. I promise.

And you're nuts too, so there. What are you doing on a knife forum??

How could you be tired of something so delicious!?

Yes...that's exactly what happened.

Would it be Kosher to just delete all the off topic nonsense? And Stick, just take it somewhere else? You haven't posted a single thing on topic, and you're the king of the hangout thread, so just mosey over there, OK? That's a good boy.

You're not exactly helping.

Yeah...I know when I should stay out of the convo

I don't think Stick's debating anything with lines like "get another joke writer." Anyway, if he wants to do anything other than troll and take cheap shots I have no problem getting into a serious discussion with him. Or not.

Seriously, I'm just interested in thoughts about dual pocket clips and that's what the thread is about. Some people think it's a great idea and some think it's a downright awful heresy of some sort. I don't understand the latter position at all. Enlighten me. That would be fun for a change, huh?

But I'm in the midst of it. You're the one with the leverage. Seriously, do I need to explain the way conflicts work?

Is stick a good guy or is he always trying to score points? Yes, you're right. "There's a good boy" was a bit much. Mea culpa.

In a tactile or practical sense I can't see anything at all wrong with dual clips. On the knives where I have dual clips they feel good and there aren't any "hot spots." So they're not uncomfortable. They also give you some extra options, especially if you vary what you carry by what neighborhood you're in, etc.. Visually the clips on the 560 look terrible, but that's not really very hard to fix, so why all the resentment about it? Could someone who resents it explain that to me? I don't get it. I really don't. On the Emersons the dual clips look nice and are, again, very practical. Is there a reason why I'd want one side to remain completely flat? So I can set it down and it won't roll? Perhaps there's a whole body of thought on this that I know nothing about?

Kai mod must be taking a smoke break :D

Maybe they're out playing golf again, like yesterday.

Freewheeling. Most people don't feel the need to randomly switch their knife to a different pocket, so the idea of having two clips on one knife is......well stupid to them. (me included) Most people clip the knife on their dominant side pocket. And they keep it there. Do you randomly switch what side you carry your gun? Probably not, because familiarity, is a great thing. And when you switch your knife around, that familiarity isn't so familiar. If someone else on the world did do that though, wouldn't you think that's stupid too?

No one is saying you shouldn't do it. Several are saying they wouldn't, because its darn ugly and not real useful.

Well, but it is real useful. It's ambidextrous and ambi-hippocketstrous for one thing. And it's only visually ugly in this one instance, and even that's fairly easy to fix. It's mostly just a matter of length. Pocket clips are not some kind of deep arcane mystery. Think of it like a prototype. For feel I can imagine some really interesting design challenges. To be ambidextrous requires symmetry, but to make it equally comfortable might require a different kind of clip altogether. Also, dual deep pocket clips probably wouldn't work very well would they? That's something I can't even try with the 560 because I can't get more than one deep carry clip.

Well, whatever. Perhaps it's just not an interesting topic. Thought I'd give it a try.

All I have seen here is you want to argue with a few people because you want them to tell you why it doesn't work/ looks weird/ whatever other excuse.

I can understand being flustered a bit in the begining of this thread, brutal honesty isn't for all and neither is etiquette. But since you continue having fun playing grab ass in your own thread (which I have no problemo with) I guess all is fair game anyway right? I'm pretty sure you know the answer to your own question. All I really see here is rhetorical criticism.

That all being said, please continue to muse away. Don't feel the need to stop for us, you keep going untill your good and done! I am thoroughly entertained!

Oh come on. I guess the moral is that you pick a side and stick with it. In spite of all the talk about making knives ambidextrous it's strangely almost heresy to extend that notion to the pocket clip. Well sobeit. I know when I'm whipped. I got my answer. But I have to say I've never had so much fun with the old ZT0561 as when I put pocket clips on both sides. And I'm still having fun with it. :)
