Check out this rad caterpillar! If you know, don't worry. I wouldn't have touched it even if I didn't know.

Hickory tussock moth caterpillars have poison in those spiky hairs that can cause quite an itchy rash!

A sad one today. This little King snake chose the wrong time to try and get outside the enclosure. The screen door closed on him. Sad. Probably hunting the latest crop of lizards.

Huge cricket got into the house and was upstairs chirping super loud all of a sudden at one in the morning driving me bonkers. Couldn’t find it not for lack of trying. I told Smokey to go find the cricket and boy howdy if he didn’t do exactly as I said and under three minutes at that.



Good kitty! He was promptly given an extra serving of salmon dinner.

I found a coral snake on my property the other day while mowing...mower chased it from hiding in the leaves into the dirt road....thats the only reason i saw it. haven't seen one of these since i was a small boy.....

terrible pics but but i was on a zero turn while it was running and the snake was moving fast to get in to the jungle again to hide

for those who don't know this snake it's in the cobra family, super poisonous

I also almost stepped on this big boy months ago. he had zero interest in me.....I now wear my snake boots when I'm stomping around in the jungle and don't have the time to pay close attention to every step...

They have tiny little teeth, so you really have to mess with them before they can bite you and inject the toxin.

True but they can, and there is no antivenom made anymore for their bite. luckily these are the least aggressive poisonous snakes in florida. they really want to leave and stay hidden.
