Share your titanium secrets with me...Please.

I've seen some of the old threads on the OxiClean technique. I am going to have to do some experimenting with it to see what I can get. On the carbidizing, I found a video by John Grimsmo that pretty much answers all my questions. Thanks for the compliments on the knife guys; I learned a lot.

The dark finish you see on a lot of Framelocks is often a blast then tumble. Older blast media and a longer tumble than normal seem to do the trick.

Oxyclean works well too, the spectrum is the same as anodizing but very subtle. You will hit a dark bronze somewhat early and that is the darkest color... past that you will get more blues and purples. Like I mentioned the colors are subtle, it more just darkens the Ti. Heat and repeat...

I still would like to know if I can use my carbidizer to anodize so if anyone has the 411 with detailed instructions for a dummy like me please let me know.

The carbidizer I have came with a unit much like the one Grimsmo uses in the video but dedicated. After watching the video I wonder if you can just clip the wire to the carbide bit. Can't see why not.

Bob, in either case, I have an engraver at home that you're welcome to. It doesn't work well as an engraver (probably just me) so it just collects dust. Might work well for carbidizing, though.
