Photos Sharing CRK Art - My CRK Collection

Sorry, until I get how to post images off imgur..... You have a beauty raindrop on page 1 in the pic the blade almost looks black. That pattern is stuning.

And a Mnandi..

Beautiful! Love the little flash of blond grain!

beautiful!!! What wood inlay is this LW?

I still don't own a Mnandi or plan to own one. Not unless, I can find something like this... :D

Mine is Cocobolo. I'd love to have that one you posted, it looks like it might be Mesquite. I've seen it around before, it's a pretty one. There's also a 2-tone Lignum Vitae, LiasnTica has that one.

I believe it is a Black-Dyed Amboyna. I would really really love to get my hands on this one.. that wood is absolutely stunning...

In that case it looks like they only dyed part of it. Hmmmmm....

A while back in here, someone asked which model I have the most of. At the time the answer was Large 21. I was just looking at my spreadsheet, and realized I'm down to 16 of them, having sold off about 15 knives in revent weeks. Now my most prolific model is Large Regular, with 19 currently residing at Casa_de_Wolfe.

Here we have a small 21 with Box Elder Burl, the prettiest and most intensely marked that I've ever seen. I've seen some come close, including a large righty-lefty pair that passed through here. That lefty is especially beautiful, and pics of it occasionally surface in the capable hands of Powered By Cotton. I miss that knife.

This is a large Annual with Box Elder from 2001...

This is a large 21 Bocote. With the exception of the small Box Elder, this one might have the prettiest wood of the bunch. That's a bit ironic, because it's the only one of this bunch that's leaving. It's just here waiting on it's next owner.

The large Syringa. You just don't see a whole lot of things made with this, because Lilac trees don't get big at all. Besides, who wants to cut down something so pretty?

Lastly, a righty-lefty pair of large Lignum Vitaes. The right is a Classic with marks of appreciation on it, the lefty is an unused 21. The green overtones make this wood unique. This is also the 4th hardest wood on the Janka scale, with a rating of 4500. It's the hardest wood that CRK has used as an inlay, with Snakewood being the second hardest.

I took some more pics today, just messing around. With the spring coming, I get a few minutes of sun on my balcony in the afternoon. I'll get a lot more in the summer. I decided to snap some pics in direct sun, just because. The knives I chose are fairly random, I just grabbed from knives stored face-down because I only had a few minutes. Most of the pics washed out, but here's a few you might enjoy...

Although I didn't have enough time to get these damascus blades in sunlight, I do like the way this pics turned out...

Of course I handle these works of art with great care, and here I was about to carry some inside. Yes, I have some pretty Sebenzas on the block. :D NO, not THAT block! :p :D

TripleT started a great thread yesterday with his Morning Sun-Night sky combo, and asked for others to add their pics. I added a few, I'll put them here too, along with a few more...

Thanks again for the fine photos and information, oh high main mentor of the Sebenza world. I have learned much through your posts.

I really enjoyed catching up on this thread. Thanks so much for taking the time. I think that ROF is amazing.

I kinda like getting a chance to see the 2 Sebs that I sold you in the pics, though it's kinda saddening at the same time. Oh well. Life will go on!

What an incredible collection, thanks for sharing (awesome usage of the Internet)! Do you acquire a new CRK when you spy one that strikes your fancy, limit yourself to knives/month, but on birthdays & holidays...or have any other system for purchasing?

Thank you, I really enjoy hearing that. I appreciate the functional art of these things so much that I really enjoy sharing not only pics, but knowledge of them. That's why I always welcome questions.

Thank you, and it really make me happy to see that you're in a place where you can have knives just for their beauty again. The beauties that I got from you have moved on at least. The ladder damascus is living in the UK now, and the spiro went to it's new custodian just last week. Now I get to miss them with you.

I agree about the ROF, it's really something to see, especially in the hand. I think the wood gets so overshadowed by the damascus, that a lot of folks never really appreciate how nice it is. That's a lot of why I decided to do that entire post without mention of the blades folded up inside those knives. There was also a bronze Pinstripe on the table, it'll be shown off again. :)

I'm also thankful for the photos and the information, super interesting to know about the woods for the inlays, very cool; also on the landscape ones I can see and arch and the ocean behind it on some and the beach on others; like on the regular with the night scape the blade looks like the water of a river coming from the mountain, so nice; Lisa is a very good artist. Amazing work to put on the handle of a knife[emoji108]

PM sent!

And with regards to the pics, your posts have actually helped me narrow down my first purchase in years, so for that you should know I am very grateful and your posts are much appreciated. So pics of your collection have helped me start mine over again. Maybe that is helping in a way you might never have expected.
