Photos SharpByCoop's Gallery of Handmade Knives

Great photos and knives as always...............

I am not normally a tanto guy but I would have that beautiful example by Zachary Jonas in a heart beat.

This must be my favorite thread on the whole bladeforums!

Nice pics, keep 'em coming.

And WOW, that Anders Hogstrom dagger is S P E C T A C U L A R!

Kind regards,

Jos

People check back often for their fix.
Ya! Count me in that group. I often look but seldom comment. I mean... what can I say? The awesomeness of your knife portraits leaves me at a loss for words. So I just look and think to myself, "How does he do it?"

Hi guys,

Thank you. As I've learned we all pay quiet attention to images than words. (Words on this forum can enlighten and enrage. Nice to have none of that here.... ;))

wannia: Google search: custom knife dealer or the individual maker's name. Then go to back to work to earn the $$$. LOL!

First some important business news: I have happily limited myself to (2) shows a year. Blade Show in June and the NYCKS show in NJ in November. This one works out well for me, as it's only an hour's drive.

Eric Eggly has been doing the ECCKS in early March for years. This year, he wanted to cut back his shows.
Eric suggested to Steve D'Lack (the show promoter) that he contact me first to see if I would like to do the ECCKS show.

He did, and I gladly accepted. I also contacted Eric after Steve's call to make sure he was OK with this. Yup. Everyone's on the same page.

Thank you Eric AND Steve!

Many of you have gotten this postcard for the NYCKS Show. I look forward to seeing you there!

OK. This concludes the business meeting. All in favor?

Aye!

to be continued....

As seen in another thread. Takedown chopper by David Wesner:

A regular featured artist in this thread, is Ron Best:

And to throw in a curveball, here is a survival knife set by Jonathan McNees:

I got a call from a quiet admirer on this Gallery to shoot a BUNCH of his folders. Not a regular voice, but BOY does he have caviar taste and a discerning eye.

He may join in for a toast, but here are the knives I had the privilege of shooting for him.

Ummm. Even I am speechless. Savor. :)

Now that is quite a mix! I have to say I think that is a super-neat compact survival kit by McNees. And then you lay on the likes of Appleton, Lake, Schmidt - oh my!

Great job again on the Wesner shots.

Really liking this one you took Coop! captured so much of the knife and I bet there is more that could be taken in with it in your hand.

Great lot of knives! the take down chopper how you compiled the image really shows how much goes into one of those knives.

Oh WOW thats a really impressive set. That \Lake is probably one of my favorites and the Shmidt nearly just killed me. Wow!

^^^ Robert.B: I wanted to kick myself  for overlooking that great knife you just posted.

I had never had the opportunity to shoot one of Ken Erickson's pieces, yet I did so this past month. I simply scanned over his file in haste.

Much appreciation for filling in my void.

Speaking of missing some makers here are four knives from Kevin Casey that don't fold.

And Kevin worked with Joe Mason and Paul Long to REALLY compliment them.

Thanks for keeping me honest. ;)

Long time follower of this AMAZING thread.

Jim, you have a very special gift in your photography. I personally am grateful for this thread and all the fine images you have shared with the forum. I am guessing there are infinite custom knife makers, collectors, and forum members that share this gratitude.

This thread is a real time gallery of the best of the best. Top Gun...!

I mean DANG DUDE. I see this stuff and it just makes the 1st few I'm finishing up look as if made by a 5 year old. I know that time takes time as well as anyone after 25 years machining. BUT these guys work is just mind blowing. The vision and execution, WOW.

The photography is amazing, PERIOD.

I think my three favorite folder makers must be Appleton, Best and Loerchner(s).

Thanks for this library, very inspiring

Jeff

No problem coop! it really is a great looking piece and remembered Ken had posted it up for us to see in the Traditional section.

Those Casey fix blades are really nice, is that mammoth ivory or oosik? has a really nice looking grain/texture to the color.

Those folders....

The Casey fixed blades...

You've captured them so elegantly Coop...

What a magnificent thread... Better'n candy. Better'n sex.... well... close anyway.;)

I'm just stunned speechless.

Jim, you have a very special gift in your photography.

Having seen the progression over years here, I can say he has very little gift. It's all hard work.

^^^ You're both right. My 'gift' is my perseverence. :D

Thank you, all.
