Photos SharpByCoop's Gallery of Handmade Knives

That's not a long wait Jim, and it would be more than worth the time if it were.

I did stop by to say hello to Susan, but I did not want to intrude upon your intense efforts.

Looking forward to seeing many knives I no doubt missed at the show.

Ha ha! I dodged the coppers.... ;) 79mph was a regular cruise control setting....

I spent all of yesterday taking care of some vital dealer images I'd also done, and got going on the portfolio images. It's going to be a lengthy process and I'll work through the weekend.

I work EVERY OTHER DAY in the week dividing my time with another job (coaching rowing and fixing shells and launches) I'm just as needed there, especially having been away.

So.... be patient. :)

Coop

Coop, so nice to finally meet you, Susan, Maggie and Jon at the Blade Show.

Looking forward to seeing all your fine images. I know you had/have a heavy workload, and this takes time, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Regards,

Steve

^^^ Roberto: It's my pleasure. Thank YOU!

It's been a crazy busy Summer and I've been relaxed in my posting here. Let's get started with some already-viewed faves:

Marcus Lin makes them SO clean and close to the originals. The classic RWL drop point hunter in stag.
orig.jpg

I want you to look CLOSELY at George Dailey's folder. He has a distinct style and has been making knives for 30 years. This one not only has jewels, but they grow in an arc, like his carving. A very classic Dailey piece.
orig.jpg

This Joe Kious double pocket locket was completed only a couple of months before his untimely passing. Ray Cover Jr. embellishes with a thematic storyline.
orig.jpg

John Young with a rare dagger in pearl, with the unmistakable Julie Warenski's engraving. Really smart 'oak leaf' filework!
orig.jpg

New maker Steven Ramos shapes the "Stoney Creek Brecciated Jasper Gemstone" and the large amounts of 304 stainless to perfection. That is a lot of work shaping stones.
orig.jpg

His sheath work shows he can work soft materials as skillfully.
orig.jpg

Curt Erickson and Julie Warenski. Like they were made for each other. :)
orig.jpg

And again!
orig.jpg

Old skool pull up and look closer. A rare Corbit Sigman piece. Probably from the eighties. No question that's the now-taboo elephant ivory being used. Rich.
orig.jpg

Herman Schneider is another rare maker that appeals to the senior and veteran collectors. Very prestigious.
orig.jpg

Paul Lusk wows us with his rich ivory(?) and tasty filework.
orig.jpg

And again with his RICH stag!
orig.jpg

Mike Craddock lives near the Yadkin River in Thomasville, NC. Without question he's inspired by the meandering bends.
orig.jpg

Nice and clean.
orig.jpg

Tom Buckner hails from Olympia Washington. He's inundated with orders for his sleek and SLENDER kitchen knives.
orig.jpg

I said slender with a distal taper.
orig.jpg

I'll say it again with the image!
orig.jpg

Nice scabbard and pin lock.

That's it for a while. Thanks for viewing!!!

Folks: Thanks for viewing the above postings. In two days since I added them the thread has grown 1200 views....

...Quiet as an Art Gallery. :)

I'm heading out for a couple of weeks on vacation with my family. If you are in need of photo work I'm unavailable for a while. Buddy Thomason can take up slack if you have an immediate need. :D

I'll have internet access some of the time. Talk soon.

Jim

Hi Steve - Thanks. Knives Illustrated has engaged a new editor and he's making usage of my client's work. Expect to see more. :)

There is another publication which is getting a MAJOR overhaul for the viewers interest. I'm happy to be involved in many publications output.

In the past month I've been on a long vacation and in between studio projects (many) I have been sidetracked with my personal car project. It's taken me away from BF and I'll return soon, but since I've mentioned it I"ll show you:

I have personally spent about 50 hours installing a Hellion Twin Turbo setup on my 2012 Mustang. Here it is about 95% finished. Expect a figure of about 600hp at the wheels. Still on it....

No one needs a Custom knife--they have to WANT it! is my mantra on my website. Neither does anyone NEED 600whp.

But I do. :D

Very impressive my friend!

What a wonderful "distraction" you have from
your endless daily routines!

All the best,

Nice setup coop. But why stop at 600 with those? Capable of so much more! I just sold my 585 whp 11 (roush tvs) and picked up a 15 anniversary model (well, last November lol). Still trying to decide which FI route to go on it.

Great looking motor Coop!! Love how the turbos are at the top where you can see them. Next time I see you you will have to fire it up for me. Love the sound of the turbos!

It's incredible that all fits in the engine compartment space!

It must be a thrill to turn all those horses loose!

Regarding the car: It's running smoothly, and is awaiting more tuning.

I'll report back with HP figures soon. Thanks for indulging me!

I've done quite a few knives in the interim. Let's admire some....

Steven Ramos is really doing good work with stone handles. NOT easy. Also his sheath work is impressive!

Brian Nadeau is a product of his own success. He's beyond taking orders. Just so much attention paid to his well-designed and made folders.
orig.jpg

Bob Crowder from the BIG Sky state (Montana) brings us a variety of his knives with a series if different skills. All impressive.
