Sharpest new knife you ever purchased?

There's no clear cut winner for me, but I think it was my 586. That thing came laser sharp.
Then of course there's a five way tie for second between all of my spydies.......

But now that I think of it, maybe my master hunter came sharpest.... I do know it's my sharpest knife at the moment. That vg-1 can get sharper than anything I've ever seen

I have an Emerson CQC-7 I bought new many years ago. Right out of the box, it shaved my arm hair so closely, that it took a while to grow back in. It was scary scary sharp right out of the box.

Most likely my old style Mora #3

Oddly enough i can not seem to get it sharp again... it just rolls

Konosuke Gyuto (more or less an HD series in White #2). Nothing else has even come close. The factory edge could whittle hair on the arm and slice it lengthwise. It's one of the few factory edges I've not been able to match, let alone surpass.

I have read this entire thread and personnally own 230+ knives. I own Busses (never sharp), Swamp Rat (sharp), ScrapYard (ok), Benchmade (see above), Spyderco (sharp), Cold Steel, Buck, many RAT 1, many Griptillian, 30+ BarkRivers (allways very sharp), Falknivens, etc. As I read this thread I realized that "the sharpest knife" question and answers is more about the person answering than the manufacturer. The answers also verify that no one consistantly produces "The Sharpest Knives". Most manufacturers discussed on this forum produce very sharp high quality knives most of the time. Dispite my first statement I have receive Busse knives that would shave (also one that would not cut (factory agreed they forgot the final sharpening). My sharpest knife was a Bark River GamesKeeper in A2, old model. It was not as sharp as knives I have read about on this forum that would make a fuzz stick out of a human hair. (Private sharpening).
What I want is not the sharpest knife but a good working knife that will stay sharp for a very long time. My closest to that is my Benchmade Bone Collector folder in D2. Skinned, gutted, quartered, and butchard a nice elk. Afterward it would still shave my arm. I has been three years and I still have not re-sharped that knife. So it wins my "Sharpest Knife".

My Frost Cutlery, Super Ultimate Tactical Recon Seal folder was razor sharp.

But seriously, anything with Spyderco on it has been my sharpest knives.

Top five:

1) TSF Beast
2) Spyderco Dragonfly ZDP-189
3)Brian Tighe mini Tighe Rod
4)Spyderco Gayle Bradley
5)Spyderco Caly 3 CF/ZDP-189

Custom Medford Viper

Production Kershaw JYD Ti SG2

SG2 steel gets scary sharp, just look at it funny and it cuts you.

sharpest ever for me was the Dragonfly 2 in ZDP-189, ridiculously sharp, non knife people were admiring the sharpness of this thing right out of the box

Without a doubt it was a buck rush I purchased about 10 years ago. I actually shaved half my mustache just to show my buddy how sharp it was. Unfortunately after cutting a few cardboard boxes apart the edge lost it's bite and I never could get it back. A close second would be a benchmade contego I had recently and shouldn't have ever traded away.
