I have read this entire thread and personnally own 230+ knives. I own Busses (never sharp), Swamp Rat (sharp), ScrapYard (ok), Benchmade (see above), Spyderco (sharp), Cold Steel, Buck, many RAT 1, many Griptillian, 30+ BarkRivers (allways very sharp), Falknivens, etc. As I read this thread I realized that "the sharpest knife" question and answers is more about the person answering than the manufacturer. The answers also verify that no one consistantly produces "The Sharpest Knives". Most manufacturers discussed on this forum produce very sharp high quality knives most of the time. Dispite my first statement I have receive Busse knives that would shave (also one that would not cut (factory agreed they forgot the final sharpening). My sharpest knife was a Bark River GamesKeeper in A2, old model. It was not as sharp as knives I have read about on this forum that would make a fuzz stick out of a human hair. (Private sharpening).
What I want is not the sharpest knife but a good working knife that will stay sharp for a very long time. My closest to that is my Benchmade Bone Collector folder in D2. Skinned, gutted, quartered, and butchard a nice elk. Afterward it would still shave my arm. I has been three years and I still have not re-sharped that knife. So it wins my "Sharpest Knife".
