Just out of curiousity whats the sharpest production (no custom) knife out of the box you have ever recieved? I have heard coldsteel, mora knives, and the kershaw leek all came razor sharp but whats the sharpest you guys have got?

For a while it was a BM Nagara (say what you will about Chinese made knives).

Recently it was a large left-handed Sebenza 21.

BM Griptillian. I accidentally sliced through 6 water bottles opening a case of them. I felt like I was barely even touching the plastic wrapping.

i seem to recall the factory plain edge blade on my Leatherman Wave was insanely sharp when i bought it 11 years back.

Specific knives: Spyderco Endura ZDP-189, Kershaw SG2 Junkyard Dog.
Brands: Spyderco, followed by Cold Steel.

The Spyderco Jigged Bone Kiwi was really sharp, even more so than the Military or ZDP Stretch. The edge was easily capable of pushcutting newspaper, and could whittle free-hanging hair in places.

I then proceeded to ruin it by cutting copper wires.

Mine too, it's still pretty dang sharp and I have never sharpened it. Got the thing in 1998 and it's still going strong.

My sharpest was my S30v Kershaw leek until I opened my Ti SG2 JYD. For sure the sharpest knife i got.

Mike
