Sharpest production knife out of the box you have ever got?

Bravo1 was definitely sharpest. I could hold that thing in thumb and forefinger and lightly draw it through paper as it was like Moses parting the Red Sea.

My F1 was also very, very sharp.

Mine was a BM AFCK in ATS-34 Steel I got abot ten years ago. Never saw a blade so sharp out of the box.

buck mini alpha in ats34 was the sharpest, but all the spydercos are right behind or right even with in terms of sharp

Very tough call,I've had more than a score come scalpel sharp.Spyderco,Cold Steel,Buck,BKT,and ESEE all get honorable mentions on this account.

As a collector and dealer I handle hundreds of knives every week. I seldom get surprised by how sharp a knife is but I've had a few recently that really impressed me. One of the most impressive I've ever handled was just this week. It's a 1991 Browning Model 53. That knife is just incredibly sharp and probably one of the sharpest I've ever seen. Another recent knife that would shame most scalpels is a modern Moki with a VG10 blade.

For 1980's era knives that are well-made, fairly inexpensive, and exceptionally sharp, I'd go with the higher end knives from Precise that were made in Japan. The ones with Micarta handles are some of the sharpest out of the box knives I've handled.

All of my brand new CRK's, most of my brand new Spydies. For a while there, most of my Benchmades. Most of the Kershaws I've picked up brand new.

I haven't bought a knife in the last 5 years that wasn't shaving sharp frorm the factory. I don't buy a whole lot compared to some, but here's what it is:

10 different Mora's
6 Kershaw folders
Leatherman Skeletool
couple Gerber tools
3 cheap Buck folders
Cold Steel Large Voyager
Cold Steel Canadian and Roach Belly
Ka-Bar Dozier large folder
Ka-Bar FIN drop point fixed blade
Ka-Bar Adventure Piggyback
Timberline Valloton Folder

Honestly, the sharpest one right out of the package was the little Piggyback. It literally popped the hair right off my forearm with no effort. I was almost awestruck at how sharp it was. I went and got a disposable razor and shaved a spot to compare the two, and the Piggyback shaved smoother than the razor did.
