Sharpest production knife out of the box you have ever got?

Every one of a dozen or so Marttiini knives I have is sharper out of the box than all my other knives, new or sharpened. Benchmade, Kershaw, Mora and others all come very sharp from the factory. But the Marttiinis take it a step beyond. I'm not sure what their secret is. The grind is just a standard scandi.

hmmm, either one of my lone wolf cheyennes or blackfoot. I have never really tested the T3s, but they are razer sharp. Actually all the lone wolf were razer sharp. Sharper than the kershaws, benchmades, and coldsteels. I just got into collecting, so I don't have a wide sample yet.

The sharpest knife i ever got out of the box was the "Alpha Two" by Pohl Force. The 440C was razorsharp as hell. I love that HeavyDuty-Folder

Just out of curiousity whats the sharpest production (no custom) knife out of the box you have ever recieved? I have heard coldsteel, mora knives, and the kershaw leek all came razor sharp but whats the sharpest you guys have got?

Consistently the sharpest have been CRKs. Next best has been Emerson, with Buck being close. Most Spydercos also arrive very sharp, but some do not - there is some inconsistency. The most consistently inconsistent, and frequently very poorly sharpened, IME has been Benchmade.

That'd be a three-way tie between my Mora #1 laminated, Mora 2000, or my ESEE-3. Razors right out of the box with only just a strop.

It seems like knives with steel upgrades come sharper then normal eg endura 4 wit zdp-189 comes sharper than a VG-10 knife

I noticed that too. Maybe it's to give the impression that the steel upgrade really is worth what you pay for it. :D

My large Sebenza 21 had the sharpest, thinnest edge out of the box. Spyderco Military, Para, Gayle Bradley, and Mule were also very sharp. I got the worst cut from the Mule.

This Kershaw leek came sharper than any blade I've ever handled. ...Much sharper than any of my much more expensive knives....

Another vote or the leek with upgraded steel exactly how sharp did it come? Shaving or treetopping? Etc

For me it was a Helle Eggen laminated blade. The only production knife I ever had that came NIB sharp enough to whittle hair.

Fehrman.
Consistantly razor sharp.
They strop them, and it is quite evident in the final product.

When I purchased my Emerson Commander back in 2000 it was the sharpest thing that I'd ever seen out of the box!!!

My sharpest was my S30v Kershaw leek until I opened my Ti SG2 JYD. For sure the sharpest knife i got.

Mike

Mine include those 2 plus the Spyderco Centofante 3. They were all so sharp I'd cut a couple of Snowmen out of paper in one continuous motion.

Edit: (2) CS Large Voyagers - CS Rajah 1

I wish all knives came out of the box like the Ti JYD 2 in SG2 - unreal. ;)
