What, exactly, happened to the knife? You were trying to run a scam. Just own up to it. Oh, and despite the video... no, I'd never do business with you. You had a chance to come clean and make it right. Instead, you tried to run -another- scam and pretend to be someone else talking you up as a standup guy.Once -that- got busted, you want to make a video
"sort of" saying sorry, but still making excuses and saying you want this thread taken down so you can start trading again? Come on, bro. I believe you're sorry you got caught, but thats about it.
You traded the knife to Bigbrad right here on BF on Oct. 4th, and then you accepted payment for it from Chad on Oct. 7th. Explain to me how this is not a scam? Sometimes I'm slow, so you'll need to make it really clear.
The knife was returned to me and 3 days later all this blew up.
That's not clear, at all. Bigbrad returned the knife to you? Or, you're saying the knife got returned when you tried shipping it to Chadridv?
Well, the buyer got his money back. That's the important thing.
Should this put you off knives? No. Should you stop liking them, collecting them, posting videos/threads/reviews of knives? Hell no. What this -should- do is teach you a valuable lesson. Around here, your word is -all- you have. Your reputation, which is how you'll be judged in this community, is based off of how true your word really is. We work on the honor system... we basically have to. Some of us ship hundreds of dollars worth of knives at a time to complete strangers halfway across the country, if not the world. All we're going on is that persons word, and their reputation. It takes a long time to build a good, solid reputation... but, it only takes a few hours for one to be destroyed. You see that now. Now, we understand that stuff happens. Life gets in the way, and you can't make it to the PO or whatever. What you should do in that situation is be upfront and honest. Tell the buyer/seller/trader what's going on. Tell them how/when you're going to fix the problem.. and then, fix it! If you make a mistake, don't try to pull a slick one and create an even bigger problem. Don't just panic and stop communicating. Those are serious faults around here, and they'll lead you into big trouble. Just be honest. Most of us are pretty cool guys, and we're willing to work with other members of the community. But, we do not tolerate being lied to. We don't tolerate scams.
Now, I realize I'm probably about 5 minutes older than you are, so it's odd for me to be giving you a lecture. However, I've had pretty good success here by following those simple rules, and my feedback/reputation reflects that. I said before that I wouldn't ever deal with you. That's probably not true. But, I would certainly make you send me an item first and only after I got it would I send you my part of the trade. That's only fair, as I'm solid and I don't have anything to prove. I think if you stick around for a while, and operate like that for quite some time (building back people's trust)... you might do ok here. It takes some amount of courage/character to stick around and face the fire, rather than just disappearing.
