It's a start. But then again, I wasn't the victim. Hopefully it all gets resolved and the lessons are learned.

What, exactly, happened to the knife? You were trying to run a scam. Just own up to it. Oh, and despite the video... no, I'd never do business with you. You had a chance to come clean and make it right. Instead, you tried to run -another- scam and pretend to be someone else talking you up as a standup guy. Once -that- got busted, you want to make a video
"sort of" saying sorry, but still making excuses and saying you want this thread taken down so you can start trading again? Come on, bro. I believe you're sorry you got caught, but thats about it.

Good point here Shawn. If you want to build your credibility back up as you say, we should know what and how this happened. You might actually come out of it looking better than you do now.

You traded the knife to Bigbrad right here on BF on Oct. 4th, and then you accepted payment for it from Chad on Oct. 7th. Explain to me how this is not a scam? Sometimes I'm slow, so you'll need to make it really clear.

The knife was returned to me and 3 days later all this blew up.

That's not clear, at all. Bigbrad returned the knife to you? Or, you're saying the knife got returned when you tried shipping it to Chadridv?

I gather that you are saying that you traded the knife to Bigbrad on 10/4 and managed to ship the knife to Kentucky and have it returned to you by 10/7? Amazing. I want to use the same shipping service that you are using. That is RECORD time to get a knife to someone and back to you. Then this same knife was shipped from California to Long Island NY then returned to California again?

Or are you saying that you traded the knife to Bigbrad, sold it to Chad, shipped it to Chad, had it returned to sender, and decided not to refund his money until he opened a paypal dispute?

Maybe Bigbrad should chime in here and let us know if he in fact recieved the knife you sent him. If he did how can you have sold it to Chad 3 days later? Or did you ship it to neither person and kept the knife, the money, and the knife you recieved in trade?

The only thing that is making sense here is that you apparently tried to pull a rip-off and didn't do so hot.

I don't understand how BigBrad is in all of this? I owned 2 G10 delicas at that time. I traded one with Brad on September 4-9. I don't understand how you guys came up with the Oct date.

Just wait for chadridv to come and officially announce he had received the money. Then I'll take my leave.

Hey everyone, I've been in the city working all day, I haven't had a chance to read all the posts, and watch the video posted by Shawn Tran. I just wanted to mention I did receive confirmation from paypal that the money has been refunded.

I will watch and read everything carefully as soon as I settle in at home, but for now, and as always, thanks to everyone for the support on this issue.

Well, the buyer got his money back. That's the important thing.

Should this put you off knives? No. Should you stop liking them, collecting them, posting videos/threads/reviews of knives? Hell no. What this -should- do is teach you a valuable lesson. Around here, your word is -all- you have. Your reputation, which is how you'll be judged in this community, is based off of how true your word really is. We work on the honor system... we basically have to. Some of us ship hundreds of dollars worth of knives at a time to complete strangers halfway across the country, if not the world. All we're going on is that persons word, and their reputation. It takes a long time to build a good, solid reputation... but, it only takes a few hours for one to be destroyed. You see that now. Now, we understand that stuff happens. Life gets in the way, and you can't make it to the PO or whatever. What you should do in that situation is be upfront and honest. Tell the buyer/seller/trader what's going on. Tell them how/when you're going to fix the problem.. and then, fix it! If you make a mistake, don't try to pull a slick one and create an even bigger problem. Don't just panic and stop communicating. Those are serious faults around here, and they'll lead you into big trouble. Just be honest. Most of us are pretty cool guys, and we're willing to work with other members of the community. But, we do not tolerate being lied to. We don't tolerate scams.

Now, I realize I'm probably about 5 minutes older than you are, so it's odd for me to be giving you a lecture. However, I've had pretty good success here by following those simple rules, and my feedback/reputation reflects that. I said before that I wouldn't ever deal with you. That's probably not true. But, I would certainly make you send me an item first and only after I got it would I send you my part of the trade. That's only fair, as I'm solid and I don't have anything to prove. I think if you stick around for a while, and operate like that for quite some time (building back people's trust)... you might do ok here. It takes some amount of courage/character to stick around and face the fire, rather than just disappearing.

Thank you for this EMT_Lee. I will stick around and rebuild the people's trust.

wow... ok. just got home. There's a lot goin on here. Can't say i'm happy about getting youtube shout outs. I'm not really about that, but i guess a small part of me appreciates the gesture.

Now i just want to be clear here, that i want nothing more than for this to die down, I'm borderline feelin bad for this kid and more or less wish him well... however, his second youtube video where he "tells his side of the story" kind of hits a nerve.

Now, first off, as we all know, his "side of the story" is pretty much worthless at this point. It is coming from a place of desperation and lies. With that said, let's just say hypothetically speaking, what he says is true. Let's just say, he did send out the package and it was returned to him. Let's just say the package he held up did actually travel to Long Island. (and btw i do appreciate him blocking my personal info, if in fact that was a real package)
and lastly let's just pretend the spyderco box he held up was the actual knife i tried to buy.

I will reply once again with the exact words from our original facebook conversation when he initially gave me the same excuses. There's no way in hell i would ever make a response video, but i will take the time to copy/paste.

"If it was possible to believe on of the shit coming out of your mouth, i have to say...

First off, i only have 2 addresses in my PP account, and they both clearly have Street #'s and Names.

Second off, It was stated very clearly in the payment memo through PP, the exact address where you should ship. Saying, please ship to "...". (not a P.O. Box)

Third, when the package arrived back at your house, won't that have been a good time to contact me? especially since i had written you so many messages?"

Ok... so now that we're all caught up. I will state again, i really do want this to lay down to rest, but as Shawn Tran, A.K.A. URBNSpice, A.K.A. Kaotick said himself, he continues to dig his hole deeper and deeper.

My advice, fully accept the fact that you have some work to do do to regain people's trust. Stop making excuses, videos and explanations... they're worthless! Move on from this and try to be a better person. As i mentioned in an earlier post... i was actually surprised when i realized you're in high school. I am almost 30 years old and 11 years ago i can say honestly and confidently, i was a completely different person. Put this shit behind you learn from it.

As EMT_Lee mentioned, people will still do business with you, but you're just going to have to go out of your way to prove you're worthy of their trust and respect. If that means, sending the knife in advance prior to payment... be smart, check their history and if it is evident that they have already proven them self, send away. You will get paid and the +feedback will follow.

I honestly and sincerely wish you good luck and hope you will never fuck up like this again.

and lastly... and again, stop making explanation, apology and excuse videos... and stop waving around that piece of paper with my member name written on it, it's weird and stupid.

I'll learn from this and gain the trust and respect I had lost in the knife community. And I'll take down the videos.

Just for the record, I am cool with this thread being locked. I think there has been enough said. Just to be clear though, i'm cool with it being locked... not taken down.
