Shawnee National Forest Anniversary Hike (Extremely Photo Heavy)

looks like a great outing sir!! and a great meal too! thx for sharing the pictures with us.

Hello TW
I'm new to the forum and just found your S. IL. thread.
I am originally from C. IL. but have lived down here in S. IL. for about 14 years now just wanted to say you have discovered one of the reason I moved to S IL and I have also walked those same areas a few times.
Maybe you already know about it or have been to it but you may want to also check out Garden of The Gods it's another area to roam, it s further E. but still in S. IL.

Take care

Thanks man, appreciate it. No problem for the link. You'll love an Emberlit, if you decide to get one.

Great pics as usual. Thanks for sharing and happy belated anniversary!

Beautiful area, great pics.
Must have been a great trip.
Thanks for sharing

Great outing and superb photos

What were those stone steps?

In Wales, when you see stone steps like that across mountain passes, it means they were built in Roman Times.

Thanks everyone, appreciate it.

Just some hand made steps. Bell Smith Springs is a national park.

How did I miss this the past couple of days?! Always love and look forward to your posts and outings. Thanks bud!

Looks like a great time! Great pictures as always. You need to stop showing that Kelty, I have way too many packs and I don't need to be looking at anymore... though I do like it! LOL.

How long have you and your wife been married?

Jeremy
