Sheepsfoot / Wharncliffe (no slipjoint/nail nick)?

The Spyderco Air is the first knife that came to mind as long as you're ok with no pocket clip.

I had a Yojimbo 2 but didn't care for the handle.

Also the Kizer Splinter is a good option. A lot smaller than the Tomcat.

Spyderco Pingo. And the Salt is a great knife as well. Almost identical ergos to the Delica except with a Spyderhole the size of a PM2 :)

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Kershaw "Needs work", a beast of a wharncliffe. Out of production I believe, but can be found.

For 8cr13mov there's the Enlan M025 for about $8 - $12, depending on where you look.

Sanrenmu has a few wharnies and sheepies as well, but I can't remember the models of the top of my head.

Any blade length requirements? 'Cause I only look at ≤ 3" blades.

I have both the Spyderco Air and the Kiwi CF and Kiwi 3 stag slipjoint in my rotation. I mostly consider the Air a "dress" or office-type knife--feels a little thin to me but it's a great knife overall and really does weigh nothing in your pocket. (I have no issue with it being clip-less but I know some people think it's a drawback). The Kiwi is super solid and just melds with your hand. The only problem is the locking Kiwis are expensive and hard to find. I find the Kiwi 4 too large for the design--just looks awkward to me. So I'd suggest finding a good deal on an Air for now and keeping your eyes open for a Kiwi with CF or bone handle.

Also the Kizer Splinter is a good option. A lot smaller than the Tomcat.

My only beef with the Kizer Splinter is the size of the handle coupled with the fact that it's a framelock... I had a really really hard time finding a good way to open the knife without feeling like it was going to fly out of my hand, because there was no good place to grip the handle.

The Kiwi 4 is the only Spyderco that I own that I don't like , every time I decided to give it a second chance and tried carrying it , I always ended up replacing it with something else after only an hour or two .
It has become a challenge of sorts , I will always keep it and try bringing it out of the draw every so often to see if my desires and requirements have changed .
So far they haven't , it's not the blade shape that annoys , it's the handle shape . It's also a real pain to open one handed with my arthritic hands .

I'm a big wharnie/ sheep's foot fan , and really like the zt 0770 and spyderco manix 2 blade shape .... A little more belly than the shape your looking for but they work great

In terms of novelty factor wharncliffe folders, the Fox Knives USA Drago is pretty kewl. Lightweight linerless FRN scales, 154CM steel, Made in 'Merica (if that's important to you), BNIB for around $100USD online.

I love the blade on that, but that handle is a bit..wonky looking. And I'm not even sure what I mean by that haha

CRKT EDGE #6442 Has pocket clip, can be pinched open, sturdy sheepsfoot blade, & self sharpening. $15-$20 on the big auction site

This thread has got me thinking about the whole concept ,design and idea behind Sheepsfoot and Wharncliffe blades .
The visual look of them definitely sets them apart from what we consider normal .
But if you put the visuals aside and think about the fundermentals of where they place the tip of the knife in relation to the line of the handle then something like the Delica actually gives you the same effect .
The tip of the Delicas blade is very low in relation to the handle .
Maybe this is why the Delica , Caly and now Dragonfly are my favourites . I spent 10 years carrying a Traditional Sheepsfoot before moving over to modern locking folders and I've just realised that the low tip probably plays a huge part in me favouring them .

The Kahr Arms Delica is a really fun knife.

It's blade is DF2 size with a full size delica handle and a stabby profile. It could use a regrind to make it slicier but otherwise it's a great edc.

Choices really open with traditionals though, they are the ultimate in compact pocket carry.

Yeah most delicas are. My problem. With the Kahr and all other delicas is that I stop carrying other knives. Doesn't matter if it's traditional or modern. The Kahr is a cool model though it's a dragonfly with a long handle! It breaks the knife to handle ratio but I don't care. I just like it.

Kizer Rogue with a 3" S35VN blade, 4.125" titanium handle, under 4 ounces, $116. It was just released so more should show up at dealers soon.

Benchmade Rift is my go-to knife with it's modified sheepsfoot tip it is very useful. The Benchmade Triage is even more of a sheepsfoot blade, and it's probbly slightly more affordable too. My main EDC is the Rift, and my brother's EDC is the Triage, both knives are pretty much do-everything blades.

A good picture I found of both side-by-side made very kindly by our fellow forumite Whitty @USAMADEBLADE on his great instragram account.
