Sheepsfoots and wharncliffes! Oh my!

A few photos of my favorite blade designs. I added the Weaver Jack even though GEC calls it a Hawkbill, it's really not.

All stockmans gots to have sheepsfoot blades, else it ain't a stockman:

I have a mini Case Trapper with a wharncliffe and clip blade. I just don't understand why more patterns don't have sheepsfoot blades on them. They always seem to put two clip points or two sheepsfoot. They never mix them up except for the Stockman. The sheepsfoot are so useful.

This is a smooth orange bone, although it looks pretty dull in the photo. It's much more orange in reality.

Here's a few.
Top one a friend made, I use it for cutting heavy leather, 01 and Canadian ironwood burl.
2. Is a friction folder I made a while ago, old crazed Moose antler handle.
3. Is a tiny 1/2 congress wreck by Rodgers.
4. GEC executive whittler.
5. A nail breaker from Swan works Germany.

Best regards

Robin

jwh, how do you like the new Case green bone Sowbelley? I forgot that is one of my favorite SF blades too!

This old Camillus has a worn-by-use thin sheepsfoot blade that is still quite sharp.

The little Craftsman has the smallest sheepsfoot blade I own (just 1.25").

It just came in late last week. I haven't had much time with it yet. The f&f is good and I like the PW Bermuda Green Scales. It seems to be a comfortable handle. I really like the design but the proof will be in the pudding.
