Shipping insurance

So if you don't have a balance, then they charge a fee? Seems to be about the same as the seller fee.

for a domestic FF transaction there is no fee if you have a balance or the account is linked to your bank. There is a fee if a credit card is used. Pretty sure that fee is to the sender. IN G&S seller pays the fees.

Just my $.02 - the best insurance you can buy is extra packing material and tape (so the package doesn't get damaged on the way) and signature confirmation (so the package doesn't get left on a doorstep for anyone to grab).

USPS insurance is expensive and, from what I've heard, can be difficult to claim regardless.

A question - If you use signature confirmation and it never arrives do you get your money back from USPS? I'm guessing NO but asking because I don't know. Is SC just a way to keep from getting scammed by the intended recipient?

Signature confirmation items get left all the time. Usually the postal worker scrawls something in as a signature and will claim you signed it. I know a few people it has happened to.

no sir...it's a free service as long as you send it from your cash balance...mighty generous of PayPal which makes it more despicable for someone to try to use it to subsidize a deal, IMHO.

send my "grown" sons cash that way quite often, hahaha.

^ this is true if you send within the same country. If you send F&F from one country to another, there is a small fee the sender pays. Just FYI ;)

Yup, PP now charges around a $4 fee on F&F that go over the border to combat all the people using it in that way.

As a buyer, I have always funded with a credit card and never paid a fee, according to eBay.

Buyers never pay fees on G&S or ebay. The seller pays them all.

In regards to insurance: It is ALWAYS the responsibility of the seller. I once had to shell out $45 of insurance on a single box for somebody that bought a bunch of my stuff one time. I did not and will not ever ask a buyer to pay for insurance. If the seller demands you pay it or they ship "at your risk" tell them to go fly a kite.

Found this gem in our very own custom makers section...

Holiday Pricing: $150 shipped in USA (please add $5 if you'd like insurance on your package)
I will ship anywhere, contact me and we'll work out the details. Once I ship the knife via USPS my responsibility is complete

Got a kick out of it, thought it would fit here...

I didn't realize that since I have no family in other countries and I haven't sent F&F funds across borders.

Good to know in any case, thanks :)
