Shipping outside the US... Please help.

To the OP I would clarify whether the insure value and the declared value, in fact, must be the same.

I have exported many items and the only time you can give a different insured value as compared to declared value is if the item was sent for repair or modification and is being returned to the original owner. In those cases the declared value is the value of the repair or modification and the value for insurance is the actual value of the knife.

Please listen to Keith and Morimotom.

Never lie. Ever. Your integrity is worth far, far more than any knife.

That deserves quoting and I would add any knife sale.

Being an International, I think its important to extend the upmost respect to the seller of the item.

If you want it, you take responsibility for it

It should not be the responsibility of the seller to check legalities of the item in question for the country of destination, and it should not be the responsibility of the seller to falsify forms, for the benefit of the purchaser.

This is how I conduct all my purchases with the small minority of Americans that will deal with me, and I think our trade relationships are better for it.

Good luck Steel Junky!

Insure and declare for a value that will make you whole if it's lost, stolen, damaged and so on. The worth of a knife is usually what you sold it for, but can be different imo.
