3 to 1, huh?

Wow, Master. Sounds impressive. Please tell us more.

Call me Lee, the possibilities are infinite. I am Yogi Mystic, Master of martial arts, in the Masters of martial arts hall of fame. Hold the 27 year all time
K.O. record in the national Toughman, done at age 60.
I am unlike any man you have ever known. And my blades are the only
totally new and effecient design to manifest in all the previous history
of american bladesmithing.

If we communicate, I will know in short order if you are one of those rare
and ancient warrior spirits.

Master Shiva Ki
I'm having trouble finding evidence online to back up ANY of these claims. Don't see you nowhere in the Martial Arts Hall of Fame. No record in the Toughman either. 'Course, I'm using google. Can you provide the links?

Yogi mystic... warrior spirits... spirit +5... I'm not touching that. If a man wants to claim he has an army of lawn gnomes help him forge his knives, that's non of my business.

Is it true that your knives are made out of 1095 steel?

Welcome to the forums... As for the above statement, could you please elaborate with some more info and possible some proof. I have heard of certain companies claim to the indestructibility of their knives but never took Company A's challenge for example. Thanks and welcome

(It's only fair to give the Top Master Smiths evidence of their lacking)

Just for kicks, I did a search of "Martial arts hall of fame". There are a ton of different ones. Which one is recognized as legit?. Looks like everybody and their brother has a hall.

Is any hall of fame legit? Even Cooperstown is questionable with the politics of who they pick and exclude.

Well, the hall in question had 77 inductees in 2001, filled with Grand Master and Universal Master, a Physically Challenged instructor of the Year, and a Daycare Center Instructor of the Year. Now that's hardcore! ;)

Daycare Instructors are hardcore, watch your mouth, yo.

On the first post of this thread there is a link to Shiva Ki's web site. On that page there a pics of his knives cutting rope. Also, there is a artical in this months Tactical Knives (March/05) magazine showing basiclly the same thing. As for difinative proof, it may take a little more research. However the Shiva Ki knives do look impressive.

I've heard that he makes impressive knives, but the fact I am focusing on is his statement, which to me, was a spit in the face of master bladesmiths. I can claim that I can nail a 10" spike through a cinder block with my anatomy, but that doesn't mean anything without PROOF. To me, the knives aren't under questioning, but the statements given.

If you're gonna claim to be the biggest/baddest/etc... I say, PUT UP OR SHUT UP...

My $0.02

Ah son of a... Now I have to wait to buy my 1st car. These knives will take up every bit of cash I have for the next year and half.

Why did you have to show us these. 1st this place gets me hooked on Spydercos and now these! You heartless beasts! :p ;)

Well I don't like hype either. But from the picures shown and the article in TK magazine these blade do seem to be an awesome demonstration of cutting power and craftsmenship.

How exactly would he proove the blades abilities? Get some Busse, Strider, and some custom knives and go head to head in a cutting contest?

Just curious to know what kind of proof would be acceptable.

I don't Know Master Shiva Ki,nor have I held any of his knives(though I've been wanting to check one out for a while),I've only read of them and of him.I,ve read that some consider him arrogant...and I've also read that he is a great guy to get to know and that if you knew him that you'd find that he did indeed EARN the title of Master.(believe I read that last part here on these forums)As for his post..The way I read it is that he is extremely confident in his abilities in whatever he does(Yogi Mystic,Martial arts as examples)and that when he does something,he doesn't do it half way.So it seems he's saying that his knife making is the same way.I don't mean to put words in anybodys mouth...this is just how I read his post.As far as outcutting everyone elses...I can't say either way...only thing I've read ...and this is every time someones wrote about them that's handled them...is that they are super sharp and very lively.I would also like to see one in action....maybe in my hand at that.

Coug, I think what he is saying is that his knives will cut through three times as many ropes than the knives being made by the ABS Mastersmiths. This is of course an extreme exaggeration. His Spirit Blade cut through 15 ropes. That is an awesome feat, but most, if not all ABS smiths can make knives that will cut through more than 5. Along with martial arts, Master Ki seems to also be a master of hype. He makes excellent knives, but he does seem to lack respect for other makers. Maybe it is just how he comes across.

Why not go head to head? How else did he prove that his knives are beating the competition?
Pics can be altered, statements made, but few people can cash checks their mouth writes. I want to see pics of this proof that he defeated Master Smiths in a cutting competition.

Keith Montgomery: Avatar knife is by ABS Journeyman Smith, Rik Palm.

Shiva Ki has some good looking knives there, to go along with the hype, but take a look at Rik Palm's work for quiet creativity.
