Shop DOGS!!!

No she's a pure bred field springer. Has a nose like nothin I've seen before. Too bad I don't hunt anymore...... She does love to chase the tennis ball though.

I thought there was a chance she might be...about 9 out of 10 people who try to guess the breed of my Brittanys ask me if they are Springers, so the irony of my error in getting hers wrong is quite amusing to me!

Great looking dog you have there.

We thought about getting a brit but wound up with a standard springer first. When she died I did not want another dog, well that lasted about 3 months. Found Ginger and I knew I was sunk when i went to pick her out and had her named before I got there. Dogs are great company.

Lola and Josie Wales being festive by the tree. You can't imagine how many treats it took to strike this pose!:D

Here is Sasha, my shop dog. Well, when she feels like coming down (which isn't too often). The only problem I have is she likes to be right underfoot and with my little hole in the wall shop, it doesn't make a good mix. She's a miniature doberman pinscher / german shepherd mix :D

This guy likes to lay around in the shop while I'm in there, until a power machine starts up...then he quietly picks up and leaves.....I guess he can't stand the sight of blood....?

My lapidary shop is on the 2nd floor of my hot rod shop. I have a small window cut for the guard dogs to use to warn me of any vicious squirrel or cat within range and the occasional delivery vehicle. One pretty much guards the front of the shop and the other guards the heater....

Ginger is the main shop guard and Roxie protects the heater. :p

I think the pictures pretty much show their intensity. :D

Unfortunately I'm extremely allergic to dogs, so can't have one. Which sucks. But I do have two cats. This is my little buddy. One when he was a kitten and one when he was a little older, hiding under my desk.

Don't ya just want to pick him up and hold him?

Nice Aussie! He is getting close to the dreaded "aussie insanity" age. Mine was a complete manic nutcase from about 6mo to 1.5 years, after which his personality changed into a much more "adult" dog.

Ive had dogs all my life and have never seen dogs display "teenage" behavior like aussies...mine used to run himself nearly to death in large widening circles trying to work off his excess energy.

Man this thread catches me in the gut. I'm unable to keep a dog where I live right now. If given a choice to get my Setter Zack back, or any ex-gf, I'd choose Zack every time.

The aussie insanity is something I can relate to very well. I spent all my summers on a farm as a kid. We had an Aussie named "Bill". When he was about 1 year old, his favorite game made me bust into laughter every time I saw him do it.

He'd take off after "Sugar", an old horse in the pasture who needed a tail trim badly. Once he got Sugar running at a good gallop, he'd swing in from the side and behind, grab the tail and swing in the air around to the other side up near the withers and let go. He'd fly off to the side, hit the ground running and come back in for another pass. He'd work that poor horse into a lather and we'd have to scream and yell at him in fear of giving poor old Sugar a heart attack (once we stopped laughing that is) :)

Here is Cay. He came from the "death row" in an Alaskan shelter. He had bitten someone and he had also run down a moose till it dropped dead.

He's turned out to be a good dog. Mellow with the family, but incredible watch and guard. At the age of 14 he's got some prostate problems and other things going on. He came from Alaska to Finland with us and I'd like to bring him back home to Alaska. He is under veterinarian care and special home cooked diet.... It would break my heart to...well, let's not go there.....

I can just imagine him saying "Fine! I'll get out of your toolbox. But only because I want to, not because you told me to."

Here is my shop dog, or maybe my shadow would be a closer description of him. His name is Rambo Lee. He loves to lay in the shop and chew on old antlers that I have for him, he also likes his teddy bears in the shop, BIG BABY.
