Shop Gathering

Uncle fer was in the house

Great first post! I'm jealous.

(still doing my JK Shop Gathering "from home"...man my hands are tired!)

Eric

edit: Here is what I did today:

I'm putting a mirror polish on the spine and tang and then going to gently contour the micarta scales. Progress so far is less than I had hoped. The mirror is a few steps away! (doing it all by hand - no machines at all).

Thanks again JK for this awesome knife!

Hand work is good. Lots fewer OOPS  that way. Looking great

Got back to hotel yay. Great to see everyone who came, it was a lot of fun. Realized on the way we completely forgot to talk about those arrow points, john.

Thanks again to John and Andy for the invite. Beautiful knives and sheaths, looking forward to my first JK custom! It was great to meet everyone and thanks to chef Andy for the brats.

Glad everyone enjoyed themselves. Always fun to see old friends and make new ones. Thanks to all for coming!

We sure did! Maybe draw something up, and we can figure out the details.

Whew! That was a fun day!

Peter - thanks for coming all the way up to attend, it is always nice to have you at a gathering!

It was very cool to see the new guys - we are starting to get quite a few people that can attend. Warmer weather will make it a little better for such a large group, although we had a pretty good day for Jan 31!!

Three new participants, roy06, greekgod454 and Uncle Fer all came and showed off some sweet knives.

It was like a knife hurricane with all the knives being passed about.

Several knives changed hands, although I could not sell one lol......

I also cremated a few Rabers sausages for the crew, and the Boss made some of her tasty Sloppy Joes for the crowd (Thanks Connie and John!!)

All in all, another great day spent shooting the breeze about knives and talking to friends with like minded thinking.

Pictures!!

Here are two of darkmatter's newest sheaths - check out that basketweave embossing!! Very sweet! John S (darkmatter) has said that he is going to start lining the sheaths too, sweet!

Thanks for the photos, Andy.

I'm going to have to make it to the next one.

And the veil has been lifted :) I'll never read these post quite the same with your images in my mind  :D

Glad you all had a good day and there was no stormin' to contend with. Would have like to handle some of those knives in person.

Glad you guys had a great time....:)

Thanks for the pics.

Looks like we're going to stick around in Chicago for another day, we just can't be sure what the roads are going to be like and the one outside the hotel looks nasty.

To the planetarium!

Sounds like a good idea. I've been shoveling every two hours to keep ahead of it. There is also the Field Museum and the Shedd Aquarium
