Here is my shovel

We have about 8 inches and it is still snowing fairly heavily - looks like that will continue until this evening.

Thanks John for having us, I had a great time seeing everyone again and got to meet new friends. Knife collections were assume. I should have thought to take pictures of you Andy with some knife candy. That John Deere in your photo would be cool with a snow blower and cab attachment. Have a safe trip home Peter.

Dang,missed another one.:(

Thanks for the pics Andy, I didn't recognize Sean with the beard, he was bare faced in the last gathering pics IIRC.
Good to see the new guys and John(darkmatter's) sheaths too.
Those sausages look done to perfection to me.(I like jerked meat)

Have a safe trip home Pete.(and all of yous for that matter)

Awesome pics, but none of you Andy! Should have turned the camera around for a shot!

Roads were a little hairy getting out of Chicargo but we're 100 miles from Indianapolis now an its starting to clear up.

Well, after a few to many stops (that little rental had the tiniest gas tank! also couldn't pass up the first Cracker barrel we saw in Kentucky) we made it home, time to check up on my students and see what they did all day without me. :)

Thanks for the memories guys, I'll try and pull together all the pictures and post some before too long

glad you made it home safely, Peter!

That is a long way to come for the gathering, and I appreciate your coming up!

It was awesome to see you although we didn't get to talk as much as I would like.

We have to get that gathering in Kentucky scheduled.

Some great gifts and things I piked up form John at the gathering,

DSC04009.JPG

John donated two boxes of "mystery wood" I can see some bocote, walnut, box elder and tulip wood, unfortunately if I can't identify it without doubt I can't use it for handles but I can sure make enough beads and extras to last a life time :)

John also had some traditional knives for me to play with a camilus linerlock hawkbill, an uncle henry shcrade stockman and a two bladed "scout" schrade walden, very cool!

I also picked up the next batch of HK knives

Yep that pecan will look good! If I am able to acquire it, it would look good in a knife with firearm shot, My Ruger has pecan grips:)

I bet there might be a chunk of Green Heart in there that I passed on to John when he did my Rule #9. Doesn't look green but it is very hard and finishes to a light gold brown - like this

If so it makes an excellent knife handle.

Nope, I still have that!
