The "mini" knives are great, but sheath are way too big. Simle kydex around the blade would be better.

i give you that plus why do you need 2 straps to secure your blade? but on the other side you got a pocket to store a sharpener or fire steel and what not.
all in all i think i am going to be very pleased with the tweeners. my expectations are really high :)

Coming out of hibernation......

I have serious BK16 wood...

The new finish looks awesome! I can't WAIT to strip it all off!

BK-16 and BK-15 definitely on the horizon for me. And having just passed up a really good deal on a BK-7 and convincing myself I don't need one, Ethan now has me wanting one real bad. *sigh*

If I'm not mistaken the two straps make it jump compatible for the military. On my 9 sheath I just took a small section of chord and tied the snaps behind the belt loop.

That is correct, and why the sheaths have the two straps. Two forms of retention. Stock Bk2 sheath is jump rated due to kydex retention and the little retention strap. BK9 in stock sheath is not.

that makes sense.
oh my word, 2012 is going to be very expensive for me with for example buck ("punk"), kershaw ("diskin hunter") and even camillus (usa made knives like their bushcrafter) bringing out very promising stuff. and even esee seems to finally get the laser striker going.
i am happy and sad at the same time :)....maybe i should get my knife addiction fixed.
