Shot Show 2012

Ha, this made me chuckle.....

Haha, anyone know if tacticalcorsets.com had a booth this year?

Is that a tactical mug? EBM. Enhanced battle mug.

yeah. they tend to be really expensive too, and the handle was extra when i checked. i wasn't in to a $300 setup :>

my "klingon tankarkds" came in that i posted about over in snark. just what the doctor ordered. heavy gauge aluminum professional mixing cups, as seen on tv :) should be great for camping (they're metal, you can cook in them!), bailing boats, the home (grog!), and of course, i the kitchen for when i need a 1 or 2 qt mixing cup ;) $10 :)

I'm gonna see if I can epoxy some spare rails on a stainless steel mug. Anyone know what epoxy works well with metals?

They seem to be averse to photos in some places. Interesting.

I've never met Ethan, but the video was good. It took a minute to get going, but there was so much good information in there, I've passed the video on to a couple of friends that I have on the verge of buying their first Becker knife.

Woah, that EBM is rad.
Clearly that's where you would keep the awesomesauce.
Does it have a bayonet lug? That could get tricky.

No bayonet lug, but you can mount a laser on the rail so you can hit your target (mouth) and not spill.

Uh, just don't look at it...... or you'll go blind. That's what the BUIS are for though.

spyderco told me that i couldn't photograph certain knives... despite them having POSTERS of them on the wall, and handing out postcards of the picture, catalogs, as well as having people with "press passes" take pictures. i got shots anyway before i was told. wasn't asked to delete them.

i was asked at Blade to not publish certain pictures until the LAST day, but after that? no worries :)

Moose,
Thanks for the photos and the video, I now have a few items to add to my wish list. I was under the impression that a new BK1 type knife was going to be released, is that not the case? sorry to steal your thunder if it hasnt been announced yet. I seem to remember that comment from another thread.

confess! where did you get this impression? :) people keep saying that lately, and i'm trying to hunt it down.

nope, no US made BK1 for a year or two but probably not three. so much more in between it's not funny....

same for the BK6. not coming soon. nope.

there WERE tentative plans for a taiwan release, but that was nixed early, and announced. a lot. i think it's in the FAQ too :)

so, no no no. no no. no :)

and no :>

Ethan looks tired on that video but he still did a great job. That BK-16 looks incredible. I definitely see one of those in my hands as soon a they are out. Conveniently I have a birthday the same month the Moose said they will be available. Someone send a hint and a web link to the little lady so I won't be too obvious.

Great video. Those tweeners look sexier every day! Wait, that sounded wrong... :D

Did anyone else hear the part about the BK16 being "ground all the way to the spine" in the video?

Still looking for clarification on this one... Moose? Ethan...? Anyone?

*crickets*

confuzzled about that too. thought these have been rolling across the factory floor for a month already.

What gave you that impression?

If they were actually making the BK16 don't you think some would have been shipped by now?

it could very well be that the BK 15 and 17 models are already finalized and some indeed have already been produced before SHOT. But they release date is not until March and there is plenty of time during the next 45 days to build them.

KAKAR has the capability to build LOTS of knives per day. I think they can handle Ethan's last minute tweeks to the BK16 and still get them all out by March.

I was under the impression that the grind would be higher but not all the way up to the spine. Perhaps Ethan mispoke? Moose did say it was a really long day and that they were somewhat caught off guard. I always though that they just meant the grind will go up closer to where the BK16 is EDIT:(etched).

I'm with you guys I'm curious now.

I love the part of the video where Ethan says he took a dears head off with a machax, that's pretty bad ass. If you gotta get the job done might as well get it done with style, get it done with a machax!
