  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Shot Show 2012

Ugh, I can't imagine beating a nice fine SHARP BK15 against a ceramic plate just to eat steak.
Generally I have no use at all for serrated blades, but steak knives are an exception - the peaks of the edge contact the plate (and get dull) while protecting the edges inside the serrations for all the cutting work.

You want to cut *aaaaalmost* all the way through and then pull the steak up against the edge (as opposed to pushing the edge against the plate).

This is a great thread, with lots of great info. Huge thanks to moose for all of the pics and info. I can't wait to drop some money on all three of the tweeners.

I prefer a steak tender enough I can cut it with the fork in my off-hand so I can use the knife in my strong-side hand to fend off raiders. :D

Um I carry diapers in my EDC lol sort of goes with the kid thing and Im not packing around the diaperbag my wife uses.

This thread has just been great. A real feast for the eyes. I see 3, maybe 4 knives that are must haves. But, I gotta say that BK16 has me fired up more than I have been in a long time over a knife. As much as I love my 2's,5, and 7, I have found that for everyday carry, I use my BK11 more than any of them. It's a shame I can't get enough time to get out camping more so there is always a place for the bigger knives, just not as much opportunity to use them.

To me the 16 seems like a long journey that Ethan took and finally found his destination, so the rich history behind this knife make it even more special. Can't wait to get my hands on one!!! :D:D:D
