Shot Show 2012

Cool, I will take them.

Make a good skinner and edc blade.

Also a good extra lite blade for backpacking

I took a double take when I saw the name of the new ESEE candiru. The candiru catfish the one that is known for swimming up unsuspecting pee holes all along the Amazon river. Great name choice! LOL

Exactly. Interesting name choice, I think. Not sure that would have been my first pick for a knife. It conjures up some bad thoughts...

Well, it was a fun and full first day. I just now got back to my room, and there wasn't any partying tonight. Ma dogs is barkin' and I'm beat.

Didn't see much today, except the BKT's and Remington. Our booth faces Remington's, thats the only reason I saw them :D. Busy, busy, busy. Its alot of fun talking knives all day, and intoducing new folks to Beckers. Made some good regional sales, basically, I talked them up, and the Ladies of Kabar took the orders. Awesome stuff.

Must have seen 200 people today, and they all left saying they didn't know why they had never heard of BKT before, but they know about them now. :D

Met some really cool folks associated with Kabar, John Benner is about as badass as they come. Got to show off some Beckers to the Special Forces guys from Bragg, real high speed low drag fellas. That made my day.

Even with the tweeners.on the table,.the BK2 was the favorite. Hell yeah.

Met THTX3, the guy that had my machete for a while. Since we got to meet face to face, he got to tell me why he had it for so long. Anyone that thought ill of him needs to apologize, his job is not an easy one. Since he chose not to tell anyone what he does, I.won't betray his confidence, but its dangerous, doesn't pay much, and is one we should all respect. Since its us he's protection.

Enough of that. This place is heaven. Guns everywhere. Gear everywhere. Infrared goggles, state of the art gun optics, and so mich of the shit, a week isn't long enough to see half of it.

Flexxx, I'm gonna go by Kifaru for ya sometime and take some pics. Stroke material all the way, bro.

I chech out the Remington RSASS and MSR today, marvels of modern minds. At 14K though, they should be.

So, I'm gonna soak in the tub, put my feet up, and do it all again tomorrow. I'll be seein' ya, with more stuff asap.

Oh, so far the super secret knife.isn't ready, so, until I hear otherwise, its to remain super secret. Sorry.

Thanks for everything Moose!! I appreciate it!

Glad you enjoyed your first day, I wish I was there

Thanks for the info Moose. Us guys stuck to our monitors really appreciate it.

And it sounds like the secret knife isn't going to be at shot, so I've got to mentally (and possibly financially) prepare myself for a longer wait. I can handle that. Just thinking they were supposed to be released today was kinda driving me nuts.

Also, I showed my wife the BK17. Her first response was "oh, thats small"... I think I've conditioned her to think that large knives are normal (BK9, War Sword, USMC, etc)...

Those 14 handles are micarta, correct?

At the price they are selling them for,I doubt it.

Most likely injection molded delrin.

Besides ,Solid Orange Micarta does not exist. All of the hunter Orange scales made for knives are G-10.

The BK14 handles are zytel.

The BK15/16/17 all come with black AND coyote brown zytel. Micarta sold seperately.

The new coating and laser etching looks badass. I mean it too. Plus, its tougher from what i can tell by feel.

The sheaths for the BKT shorts are based on the old Eagle style sheaths, pretty well made and have a molle strap on the back. Several lash points.

Is the coyote zytel a limited introductory run bonus or will that be how they come forever?

Yep, I'm out too. You folks can have my share of that chinese.
If your talking knives I completely understand, but you can't get away from it, chinese made products are everywhere and in everything..

It's hard tell tone from the typed word sometimes, So please read my tone as repectful to you.
It's not about quality controls, not for me it isn't. There's other factors at play here without getting into specifics on this subforum.
I couldn't agree more, I just had this same argument with Sal Glessor just a couple months ago, I remember as a kid growing up everything made in Taiwan was junk and not worth having, the only reason I brought up QC is because that's not the case anymore at least with some things.. but I digress, this isn't subforum specific... :)

I'll close with this, look at labels people, china is everywhere........ and in everything, you can blame NAFTA for that..!!

Hmmmm.... sounds great, but I'm still on the fence. Do they have carbonitride titanium non-stick technology???

Almost time to head over. From my room,

According to the new catalog, they will come that way forever.

The blade coating is a texture epoxy coating.
