SHOT Show Highlights

Hopefully someone filmed over at the Protech booth. They appear to have some new Strider SnG Collaborations that I could only make out from a distance.. :(

You can see pics of them on google search. One expensive one with damascus and a couple aluminum variations, one is knurled I believe. I'd probably take a full aluminum one over the G-10 and pointless steel side, but thats a gripe for another day.

Whoever is interested, here is my album from the SHOT, from today. Not a lot of knives, but I was trying to get oriented what is where, this year seems to be very different, only few of the big names are in the same place as they always being, I'm mostly here because of the guns...
The plan is to go trough most of the knife exhibitors tomorrow and get some decent pictures, they intentionally keep the lights dim so only pros can get good pictures and I'm not one of them... :D
Anyway, enjoy: https://imageshack.com/a/yGxJ/1

A. Thank you for the pictures, that's awesome. B. Did I really see an Ontario Dozier collab in there? Because if the quality is anything like the Rat 1 that thing's gonna be fire. C. I need a rotary grenade launcher. For...reasons.

A. You're welcome, this was a "short" day for me, I usually got better pictures and much more. I'll try to "fix" this issue tomorrow :D
B. Honestly I dodn't know which O?BD colab you're talking about. I'll go to their isle tomorrow and ask specifically for it.
I saw something that Mr Pardue was showing as a prototype two years ago, I have him still on video talking about it, but seems like we are not going to have a chance to see the production of it, the one on the bottom is what I'm talking about:

Oh... I see what you're saying, yes this is the O/BD colab, funny thing, I didn't really opened full size all the pictures I uploaded, how dumb... :D
I"ll go there and I'll ask tomorrow, you got me interested too, thanks for the tip

Ouch. Wonder why this one's so much more than their others?

Easy: way more labor to make it. More grinding, hidden tang (more labor in fitting), wooden scabbard with shaped steel hardware...the more complicated you build it the more it costs. :)

It's solid man, and almost the same size as the fixed BOB... They had the info from long time ago but I never seen it for sale or on a show.
It feels very hefty, I'll go back there tomorrow to get some details about the steel and such, those guys are nice this year... :D
I think those little friction "tactical" razors will be popular too.

J, thanks I would appreciate it. Because man, that is amazing. It's essentially a larger, better looking Cold Steel Finn Wolf, which I would love. I like the Finn Wolf a lot, just need more blade, and this would fit that bill. Plus, my BOB has been well used and loved.

There is one pic of Protech's display case (taken at Shot Show and posted on Instagram by RECOIL Magazine) that I am not seeing anywhere else; including various models with camo patterns on them.

Those are the knives that I want to see better pictures of.. ;)

Forest, this is what they told me in Tops booth:
Blade is 1095 56-58hrc, handle ( check this out ): 154cm at 58-5=60 hrc... :D
I know I'm getting one for sure

The little Bob Dozier / Ontario will go on sale around March. He mentioned the price, but I immediately forgot the number, sorry.

I met with few of the big names today, I have to say: All of them were super nice and talked and stayed with me until I was done asking things,
can't be happier.

Here is my smiley @$$ freaking out with famous people that acted like they know me :D

Allen Elishewitz showed me his new auto prototype, it is increadible, probably this is going to be my first auto...

Spyderco's new projects for this year are a-mazing !!! They didn't want me to shoot but Mr Schempp personally show all of them to me and actually explained what was the inspiration behind this and that edge...
New, smaller Vallotton is comming, along with probably ten other knives that I'm already thinking how to get $$$ to purchase it... Mr Schempp got something called "Euro Fighter" that I can't stop thinking about...

And here is Jens Anzo with an autograph he signed for a Bulgarian knife forum ( he's a tall guy...):

I missed for 30 sec Rick Hinderrer but hopefully I'll see him tomorrow, can't have all the good things in one day... :D

I uploaded about 230 pictures from today, here is the album, enjoy and any of you guys that are checking it out, please feel free to use it if you have any questions

(the dumb ImageShack software puts the first uploaded images in the last page and have no option to flip the view around,
in reality, page 6 is where I started, just in case someone care about it )

Ka Bar has the first from the Jarosz line coming out

Look like a nice little EDC blade. 1095cv 3.5 inch blade and a hair over 7.5 inch total.

He said that they will be some more jimping on the handle and where the index finger is on the bottom but this is how it'll generally will look like.
Again, I'm amazed how down to earth all this guys are

I'm stoked that the bob folder is still in the works. I remember watching the shot show video from last year when it was introduced then the thing just fell of the map.

I'm also quite interested in the launch 5 and 6. I haven't been following that closely. I think I'll catch up on the videos I've missed tonight.

I went last year. All this is making me wish I went this year.

Poceh Koceb Thank you for the pictures, Keep em coming.

TLB that Kabar / Jarosz is very nice. Might have to get that.
Jesse Jarosz is from my home state. I should get a discount.:D

Last year they introduced the knife and they showed it off again this year and they said that they were selling the first 500 bob folders as collector knives at s premium price in a wood box all numbered and after that all they would say is that the public would be able to purchase the Bob folder 2017. Here we are in November and I haven't heard anything. They did sell the 500 but there's no info on any others. Anyone know anything??????
