The CRK guys will probably light up this thread quicker than a piece of fatwood but hear me out.

I've owned several CRK's and they're great. I recently got a ZT (Hinderer design) and I think just like any other maker CRK and ZT could benefit by partnering.

You could get a CRK design with a newer/different/"better" blade steel with really good tolerances (maybe not Reeve tolerances but damn good) for under 300 a knife.

OR

A CRK inspired flipper. ZT does flippers well and this could be a similar collab as the Kershaw/Al Mar collab except US made and WAY better quality/materials.

Collaborating with ZT hasn't seemed to hurt Hinderer, Emerson, or other knife maker. It would allow them to have something more affordable and different on the market without sacrificing their vision or stretching themselves thin as they're not able to produce as much as ZT.

I'd love to see a CRK with a reversible clip and premium steel from ZT. That would be sweet.

For what it's worth, I'd buy one. I think ZT could use a thumb stud knife in their current line up. If I could make my perfect CRK/ZT Collab, it would be the size of a large Sebenza, CF Inlays, maybe with a backspacer like a member who's name I forgot makes for the Umnumzaan, and perhaps a harpoon swedge similar to the Zaan, M390 Steel and to keep the CRK spirit use washers but add a lockbar insert. That'd combine a lot elements from both.

I like the way you think.

CRK, Socom Delta clippoint, framelock flipper, ceramic bearings, lockbar insert, s125v.

Unsure about the steel (not familiar with it) but I dig the package.

I can totally envision how that went:
"See Mister Reeve, the first production prototypes! We put a lot care into them, tried to be truthful to your designs and mechanical elements! What do you think?" Chris takes the knife, looks it over, starts to laugh maniacally, tosses the knife aside and clears his throat "Get out."
And that's the end of the CRKT Sebenza.

Dont put a damn flipper on it, dont use bearings or a SS lock bar , upgrade the steel to M390, D2 or CPM154 at 61HRC and Id say yes please. :) @ 225$.

I would like to see this happen but I think the CRKT collaboration just put a bad taste in CRK's mouth and don't think they'll do it again. Then again this is while Chris was still there so who know's what Tim and Anne have in store for us.

It would be an awesome opportunity for CRK to give the customers what they want with better & different steel, a flipper and bearings. I would definitely buy one just for the heck of it.

I'll be okay either way and I'm sure the crew at ZT and CRK would be also

I like the idea from a buyer's perspective, and ZT has some real quality and enjoyable pieces in the (pocket book friendly) $150-$250 range. Also, I love CRK design aesthetically, not to mention the function that their designs deliver. :)
But, with all that said, I'd rather CRK stay CRK where anything with their name on it came from their shop. ;)

I don't want a Ferrari design produced by Toyota. Even though I love our 4Runner and my 0770CF :p
