For the record, I've put this long behind me. But I was ticked, for about an hour. 
Now I also know that there are some sellers on the forum with a sense of fair play and flexibility, and that there are some without.
FWIW, if I have friends I think might be interested in a particular item of mine, I inform them BEFORE I post the item for sale. If they decline and later change their minds after the item is posted....they stand in line like everyone else.
In the end this turned out to be a very positive experience for me: I got to chat with STeven on the phone for a while. A swell dude. :thumbup:
