My knife collection so far is average. I have some inexpensive knives and some mid-range knives. So far I have:
-SAK Huntsman II
-Ontario Rat 1
-Ontario Utilitac II
-Buck 110
-Kershaw Blur S30V
-Cold Steel Recon 1
-Spyderco Paramilitary 2
-Zero Tolerance 0350

-Kabar Mark 1
-Mora Bushcraft Black
-DPX HEFT 4

So my question is, with the given selection, should I buy a Delica or would I find myself not using it over others? I've held one before, but only to wrap it as a gift for my sister lol.

I'm in the market for another folder, and I really like Spyderco and was thinking of either getting a Delica, Sage 1, Chaparral, and the Yojimbo 2 which I was really enticed by. I don't have a benchmade, and the Adamas folder really grabs my attention, but it's too beefy and I'd probably just use my 0350. Then there's the Mini Grip, and Osborne 940..any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Budget: ~$150

It doesn't look like you have any folders with that blade profile. You might give either the Delica or Yojimbo a shot, and see how they work for you. I know that, once I had begun carrying knives with a more sheepsfoot / wharncliffe profile, I found it very difficult to go back because of how much more useful such a blade shape really is.

If you've already tried the Delica and are concerned about not liking one... Then just get a Yojimbo! If you find you start carrying other knives less, then, well, you've clearly decided they are redundant and you can sell / trade / give them to other people and have a really good excuse to look around for other, newer, different knives.

The Delica is probably my favorite Spyderco. I own 3(if you count the salt 1 as a delica). One old school spyderedge, one delica 4 partial edge, and one Salt one Spyderedge. Definitely a workhorse for me. Not too big and not a tiny knife. I usually have one with me, regardless of what other knife I carry.

I'd be more worried about the delica taking over and you not using any of your other knives

Any time you ask the question "Should I buy this knife?", the answer is YES!!!

You can find them at more than 40% off MSRP now.

After Dec 31st that won't be the case.

I'd get one now.

You can always sell it here on the exchange for close to what you paid for it....

So enjoy your new Delica.

The only question now is what color?

The delica and the endura are the type of knife that at first glance you say to yourself whats the bg deal. But when you own one you say man i need another one. The simplicity is perfection.

I'm not so much a fan of the Delica because I prefer larger knives, with G10, and one-hand operation. But a lot of people like the Delica. It is a good size for easy carry, it is light, it is durable, and not too expensive. It is quite a bit different from the rest of your list. Of course if you like a knife slightly smaller than your others, you might also like the Dragonfly. One of the beauties of the Delica or Dragonfly is that you can easily carry one of them as a second knife or backup knife to your larger main knife.

Looking at your list, I would recommend a version of the Manix 2 as being more in line with your other knives, or maybe the Stretch.

the delica is a pretty sweet knife, i love mine. but i also love my spyderco double bevel, its around the same size. if you dont mind spending a bit more and you dont mind tantos, this is a great little knife. i find the narrow tanto blade pretty useful for regular edc tasks. you should be able to find it online for less than $150.

Absolutely worth buying IMHO. I recently had a foliage green Delica with a combo edge jump out of my right front pocket. After frantically looking everywhere for a few days for it without any luck, I ordered it's clone from NGK, and it got here the next day. I figure that if I ever find the original, it's a win/win for me. (My front left pocket either has a ZT 0450, 0808, or a Sebenza in it as my primary knife) Good luck!

Yes, the Delica is enough different from the knives you listed that it is worth getting. It is a fantastic all around knife. The FFG models come in pretty colors and are very lightweight. Dollar for dollar it is one of the best values in a daily use knife. I own several, and the two I carry most are clipless for discreet in-pocket carry. I hardly know they're there.

Love my Delica, especially the size and the jimping, it's like a mini pm2 blade, I got one worker and one damascus with custom scales. Also was my gateway knife

The Delica and Endura are a must have in my opinion.

Perfect thread for me. I've had an Endura for a couple years, and love it. I have long felt that Spyderco is a superior company, making superior products, owned by a superior man within the knife industry. What I've never been able to get my head around is Spyderco collectors. Someone please tell me what a Delica offers me, that an Endura 4 doesn't???

Well, here in WV, while I can carry pretty much any gun I want, any pocket carry blades are restricted to 3.5" or less.

There's a reason the Delica and Endura are Spyderco's top sellers.

The Delica is what made me a fan of Spyderco. It as luv at first fondle.

If you prefer a longer blade like your Rat 1 and Recon 1, then consider the Delica's big brother, the Endura (3.75").

Lightweight, slim, FFG, and will out-slice anything you've got. Add a Casey Lynch deep-carry clip and they're perfect for EDC.

With the funds you're talking about you could look at a Caly 3. It's kind of an improved Delica.
