Should I buy a knife from Amazon?

I only buy from either BladeOps or BladeHQ. But I am planing on getting a coustom fixed blade from the maker next. There are to way many clones turning up on eBay. It is only a matter of time before amazon falls prey.

I do it all the time, never had any problems. Amazon is great customer-service wise IMO.

Also think it will be a nightmare to sharpen because of the tanto and serrations.

After doing some research of my own, I decided to get this for EDC: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001J31HDG/ref=gno_cart_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2SUV43V2CKNNU

It's $28.85 + $4.74 shipping, no tax (good thing). But the thing is that it's from another seller besides Amazon.com. How do you know if you received a fake or counterfeit version of that knife? Should I get it?

Amazon starting collecting sales tax at the beginning of this month. I don't know if it applies to everything they sell or if they have rolled it out sitewide.

I use knives like that for trimming my finger nails, even though it is a tad small for that. Way to small for my daggers of toe nails. lol jk, we all love knives and can find a use for one somehow. I opened a paint can today with my hunting knife. (Never thought I would use it for that)

In my recent purchases, some items do have sales tax. But we don't know which specific items is included. I am just afraid that the seller will give me a fake knife or something, that's all.

Amazon is a faceless dot com.

Is that a complaint or an observation? The fact that they're 'faceless' often times allows them to sell items at prices lower than what you find in stores. (often even including shipping)

I personally wouldn't be too worried about buying a fake knife that sells for about $30.

No problems with Amazon, but what the heck are you thinking as an EDC? You are not going to be happy with that knife in everyday use. The two hardest things to sharpen are serrations and tanto's. Have fun.

I've never bought a knife from amazon but anytime I've had an issue with anything I've ordered from them they've taken care of it in short order. If I found Amazon had the best price on a knife I wanted, I'd order from them. Ive just always found better deals elsewhere.

Over the last 10 years I have purchased an untold amount of knives off amazon and I have never had a problem. I say go for it

I will repeat what other people have said. Amazon is pretty safe, regardless of that though I would alway recommend buying from a paying dealer here on the forum. Honestly though I wouldn't worry about buying a fake $30 dollar knife. If it where a several hundred dollar knife we were talking about then I could see your reservations. I haven't seen to many people faking CRKT m16s...

I have a couple Benchmades and a Spyderco from Amazon. Never had a problem with any of these purchases.
