I've been posting quite a lot likely and was considering buying a PM2 for outdoorsy use so I thought what the heck I will ask you guys if you think its worth it. I will be using it for food prep, general utility tasks, maybe light wood use and staring at![]()
My only doubt is the steel which some people believe is on the chippy side. How is edge retention, toughness, ease of sharpening and edge holding capabilities on s30v?
Should I get one?
It happens I just got my first like 2 weeks ago [emoji33]How did you get on this forum without one?
Mike
OK, I count 27 in that picture, can you confirm? And if so, holy smokes. That's dedication. I have a measly one in satin S30v.
Good lord that's a hellava pm2 collection...I'm over with my measly lonely pm2 s110vThat's about right but that is an old pic I'm up to 31 now. I have at least two of each variation except the spyderedge DLC PM1.
I need to take a new pic since the new ones came out.
I barely notice the jimping on my pm2, it's very mild compared to the jimping on many of my fixed blades. But I've also worked construction most my life so my hands have tough calused skin. One with soft delicate hands might find it aggressive, thou the delica 4 doesn't bother my wife's hands either.I had decided that I was going to pull the trigger on the standard s30v satin digicam model, however I decided to test a few of my knives on the weekend. Aftercuting up some cardboard I realised that my Spyderco dragonfly 2 with g10 had quite aggressive jimping on the spine and in the choil. It didn't necessarily hurt my hand but after prolonged use it became very uncomfortable. How aggressive is the jimping on the para 2 and how doees it compare to the dragonfly 2 and/or the Delica 4's jimping?
Thanks.

I prefer the pm2 jimping, it's a lil more spaced out then that of the Delica .How does the jimping on the PM2 compare to the Delica 4, as I quite like the jimping on it.
Thanks again.
Get the new blue g10 model with s110v. Awesome knife with excellent steel, it holds a razor edge forever it seems like. Even with cutting up cardboard on a daily basis. I've had mine I think a lil over a month now and have used it pretty much everyday since it arrived. I haven't sharpened it yet and it's still razor sharp. All I've done is strop at the end of a heavy use day or every other day with regular use. (Black Emory first then green compound) It's much smoother than the s30v models I compared it too.Gave mine away to my bro being deployed. It had the acu digital tyoe scales and a black blade.
Been aimlessly looking for a Spyderco lately, maybe I should get a replacement pm2. I dont want
The acu digicam again it clashes with my superior multicam (lol camo snob joke) and I dont do black
Too often. Maybe I can score one in a cool color, steel not so important as I know they use good stuff.
Even been looking at a Ti military, but I like that on the pm2 you can move the pocket clip.
In short, the knife is a winner, you should get one.

I have no experience with spyderco's s30v, but the knives I do have in s30v don't compare to the edge retention in seeing with spyderco's s110v. I did handle the s30v pm2's thou and they weren't as smooth as this one.I was also looking at the s110v Pm2. Do you think it is worth the extra money over the standard Pm2?
