Should we combine the Dealer & Individual for sale forums?

I'm tempted to ad to it that you can't have more than 3 items for sale in each post as well, limiting total number of items being sold to 12 in that forum.

ARFCOM gets a bunch more traffic than we do, yet they are able to have dealers and individuals in the same forum no problem.
 
Three items per thread, 2 threads in the first page, no more than 4 threads in the first 2 pages.
 
I like their rules.

As Esav noted, a few of them would solve our problems.

A little tweaking of them would be in order to fit us, but its mainly a little rewording.
 
I'm not a fan of limiting items for sale. Certainly we could limit the number of threads active at a given time, but limiting items for sale could hurt people if they happen to be in a dire (or even not-so-dire) situation. Like they need to sell a bunch of knives to pay unforeseen hospital bills, car repairs, or rent. Shit happens, and for many of us collectors our knives can be a relatively liquid investment that we can turn into cash in short order...if we're not limited by forum rules.
 
but the trouble is the 10% that will abuse the selling rights of the gold membership. I need money in a big way but I will not sell on this site because I can not afford the deales membership fee. now I am a gold member so I can sale my personal knifes to get around that rule but I will not do that because I think that would be stealing from spark that runs this site. some other people my not belive in that and they dont give a dam but I do. I think that spark does a lot for us and I want to thank him for that. but you still have the bad apples that do what ever they can to get around the rules.

I agree with you 100%. :thumbup: I don't think it should be limited to 3 items per thread. Example: Yesterday I needed some quick cash listed some knives they sold. Problem Solved :D

you would agree because you are a dealer. I see you on the auction sites. you need to pay dealer membership fees. I am a dealer and that is why I will not put up any knifes for sale on this site because it would be wrong to do so with out paying for a dealer member ship.
 
Just take a look at the exchange. One person has 13 Microtech 2 others all with boxes and you telling me that person is not a dealer?? Bullshoot.

We've already been through this but here it goes again....

Liu Kang may not be a Busse dealer but he is a dealer nonetheless based on the sheer volume of what he is buying and turning around at a markup for profit.

He can argue the fact that he is not a dealer until he's blue in the face. His track record on this forum speaks for itself.

As far as combining the forums I think it's a bas idea. It's fine as is and I foresee some dealers taking advantage of it by bumping threads constantly.
 
If a person that is selling that many knifes should help spark of and pay a bigger membership fee for selling like that. maybe a goldmemberplus membership???
