Boffo brace of black knives, Steve, and an appealing ancient apple box/basket label. To the right of the top knife, we can see something about "contents" and "cubic inches". How many cubic inches did the container hold? I don't think I've ever seen apples sold by volume in cu. in. before.

Thanks for the info, Steve.
One way to get close to that volume is a box that's 16"x16"x8.5" or 14.75"x14.75"x10".
Even if you require the box to be square, the possibilities are endless!
(FWIW, 1 bushel = 2150.42 cubic inches.)
