Victorinox alox wears quite easily. This is not necessarily bad thing as it builds what some people like to call 'character'.

I'm quite new to the world of alox and before I go on another spree I'm after some pictures of some worn alox. I quite like what I've seen from SAKguy.

Also - How do the silver ones look like after a while in terms of color? Do the 'valleys' get darker or stay a little shinier than the 'peaks'?

You've probably see all mine but maybe I haven't posted this one.

I think the silver ones will get 'rounded" but will stay pretty much silver as evidenced by the older Soldier knives I've seen.

As you know, I'm partial to red as they age so beautifully...IMO.

Thanks SAKguy, they look amazing! Something about the red.

I've got a chance to get a few black farmers, I'm guessing they'll age in a similar way?

Thank you and probably so on the black but remember of those knives shown above, the youngest is 15 years old and the oldest probably twice that so the wear may take awhile to develop.

This is my original '83 ALOX and it was EDC'd for about 20 years...

The Soldiers on the left and right side, 2006 and 2008, are new and unused. I carried the Solder 2002 in the middle for several years as my only pocket knife. Silver alox SAKs which are carried often, have a lighter red emblem.

I carried the Black Pioneer for the last year very frequently and it became a steady companion in my EDC rotation. I really like it very much.
The Black Alox is almost a little worn off, but not that much. I dropped the knife on concrete but there were no real heavy scratches or dings in it. Absolutelly tough stuff!

In the past I carried a silver Vic Farmer & Pioneer as well as a Wenger SI for many many years... ;)

Check out the Italian eBay market. Or you can search for 'victorinox farmer black alox', tick the 'worldwide' option under Item Location on the left tab. A few should pop right up. :)

Thanks. I actually own a black alox farmer I was just wondering if there was a website selling them.

I just received a black Cadet for Father's Day, and Victorinox apparently decided it needed a bit of pre-wear in the package before I opened it! Just a couple of little flecks missing, but still a bit annoying - sort of like buying your new car with a paint chip right there on the hood. Still love the knife, though. :D
