Day party this weekend in the countryside for the holidays of Easter

and after eating, not a pizza but a flammekueche with salmon and sour cream

An old Lamey - I bought it and Matt thinks it's about 5 years old but the edge was the original and just sharp sharp. I'm not a great cutter and it wacked through some inch Manila rope with no hassle

This is one i did out of a planer blade of some kind i got from a mill, its much harder to grind than D series tool steel, maybe its M2. I hacked into re bar with one and not much damage, some rolling because the chisel grind is quite thin at the edge like serrations.
Heres a 1095 9 inch blade 3/16ths thick

Here's one of mine in 1084. The blade is a full 6 inches long, with an equally long handle for leverage (12" OAL). The knife is built on 3/16 thick steel, but the tang is tapered and the blade has swedges for a nice balance. The finish is 400 grit cork belt on a full flat grind, with just a bit of convex at the edge. The handle is green canvas micarta with 1/4 pins and lanyard hole. The leather sheath is built to carry how ever you like, vertical or horizontal, left or right side.

Finished a big chopper. Aldos 1084 with stippled stabilized wood handle. 17" long.
Thoughts?

Thanks for looking

Chris- great to see you posting again man!
I LOVE this knife. I think the texturing looks good, but that it's in the wrong place, particularly at the butt. Instead, I'd put it on the sides of the handle where the fingertips grip the handle.
Anyway, great lines and all in the right place. I kinda want it...
