My first attempt at stacked leather, with blood wood at the front and back.

And my second attempt, this time with blood wood and Irish black thorn

I intend to play with stacked leather a bunch more, because these turned out much better than I expected.

Been a busy few weeks, but finally finished up some project blades.

In order of completion, my first stacked leather to my latest...

Top right, Imperial M3.
Top middle, German M7 copy.
Top left, German Zeitler Z77 with aluminum spacer and antler.
Bottom, Buck 120 with red G10, green micarta, and stag pommel. Just finished, this evening.

Beautiful stacked leather handled knives guys! I think they are one of my top fixed blade types for sure. They just bring a lot of nastolgia to me and all have worked well too.

Love the Fällkniven blades but this oddly shaped handle was made for elf hands.
I recently started building handles for Puukko blades and love stacked leather so I set off to make the KK more friendly to my hand.
I reshaped the tang and TIG welded a stainless bolt on then made an aluminum bolster and threaded end cap.
Once again for my hand, this is now a perfectly comfortable handle for this great little blade.

That's awesome!!! Love the Fallkniven kolt....and you just markedly improved upon it.....Looks comfy!!!!
Nice job....

I bought this Ka-Bar MK1 with the intention of stripping the black epoxy, once stripped the blade had a very nice bronze look so I left that alone, I blued the pommel and guard, the guard was too tall for me so I shortened it to match the first handle spacer.
Overall I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

The perfect new Ka-Bar didn't exist. Now it does. Looks awesome. What did you use to remove all of that black coating?
