How about a traditional pattern that's a non-traditional lockback? Rough Rider canoe with lock on main blade:

george 65 Interesting examples you show, really decent looking.

GEC Wall St. 99 straight out of the tube. Thin panel matched Stag and no play or lock-up issues at all.

Böker Germany, carbon, Washboard Bone, 4" shut.

GT's interesting offering inspired me too. Rough Rider double lockback (both blades lock) In Armour Hide Bone 3" Can't find anything to complain about on this one either.

I've always liked the Buck 500 series. I have a 503 that I like and my dad has carried them since I can remember.

Here's my current favorite lockback:

Thanks, Will, it's for sure the best I've got.

Here is a pic I forgot of a couple of RR lockers.

You guys always have the prettiest knives
Right now I'm torn between a Buck 501, a GEC #99. Decisions decisions....

Those are both really great knives and I don't think you could go wrong with either one. I love my Ebony Wallstret but for about the same price as a Wallstreet, you can order a 501 from the Buck Custom Shop with an S30V blade. That's probably what I would go with if I were buying new and choosing between those two.

That armadillo double blade is actually remarkable!!! have you got other pictures to show of it?

I had a 501 years ago, that was a gift. Back then I couldn't lay out the coin for one. Loved that knife. Carried it about 4 months... and lost it. Man was I mad. That's when I started carrying Victorinox. They were cheaper and easier on the mind to lose. I only lost one after about 10 yrs. There's a lesson there, somewhere.
