I'm interested in seeing what kind of stuff you guys/girls are packing in your grab-n-go mini or compact kits. Here are pics of my latest rig which is attached to my Becker BK-9. Also you'll see I keep a Gerber F.A.S.T draw secured to the side as well a small flashlight and a thermometer/compass.

Here is the blade unsheathed along with the items that are stored in and on the sheath. The small arrowhead blade is used for spears and is stored in the neck knife slot behind the front pocket. You can see some extra lenghts of 550 cord on the sheath too.

I also keep a mini bic lighter in the pouch and I'm currently putting together a mini fishing kit to add in. I look forward to getting ideas/suggestions from others, so post away

THat orange Izula is one sweet lookin color. I have the green. GReat knife. Also those kits are great also. thanks Phil

Those are some nice kits I'm seeing, especially love that leather pouch. Will it ride okay behind you on your belt? And that Izula rig is sweet too, you should check out the survival necker system at mcnees custom knives, its really nice and he's open for suggestions on orders so I can't wait to order one

inner tube aka ranger band, holds everything in, but can also be used as a large rubber band (or smaller ones if you cut it)- it really excels as a fire extender in wet conditions, the rubber burns hot and long :)

Awesome! Thank you!

With a small kit, I focus more on fire building, because that's what I am most likely to need to do to get through an unplanned night in the woods. As far as first aid, and other things, there just isn't enough space to pack enough first aid or other supplies to make it worth while. A teeny tiny bandaid isn't going to help much, as far as getting home safely, and sure won't help for any real wounds. First aid (along with water) is probably the main reason I wear a backpack when out and about:

I've posted this here on these forums before, but here we go again. This is my most-mini kit (I do keep a full-sized kit in my Jeep at all times, and will carry more than this when hiking/camping).

We have a Graham Stubby Razel (that chisel tip has been surprisingly useful in the woods)
Nanostiker
Suunto Clip compass (also glows in the dark - bonus!)
Innova LED light with three setting (dim, bright and strobe)
Under the bike inner tube is a bunch of fishing line and hook, along with a safety pin
(Since taking this photo I've added a small, flat pea-less whistle that's bright orange)

What you don't see that I'm always carrying anyways, in addition to the above (i don't like to keep all my eggs in one basket so I spread things about my body):
I'm a smoker, so cigarrettes and a lighter (cigarrette filters make good tinder once fluffed up, lighter is obviously important)
In my wallet has a fresnel lens and about 8 feet of duct tape wrapped around an old card
My keychain has a SAK classic (those tweezers are a necessity in the woods), an Atwood Prybaby, and about 12 feet of chain-sinnet braided paracord
A cotton bandana
Plus I always carry a Leatherman Juice (kf4)

I know my first aid supplies won't mend a broken leg, but having one is pretty unlikely. Whereas getting a scrape or cut that can get infected and F#@k me up, I do plan for.In my large pack I carry a pretty big eagle creek bag with a huge first aid kit that can fix everything from a cut, to broken bones, do stitches, care for poison ivy/oak, triage gunshots, and even snake bites. Not to mention having every size band-aid,gauze, and trauma pad avail. It still compact-ish and for what its capable of, its well worth its wait in gold. But I do side with you on fire/water being most important. even in that small of a kit I have 5 fire starting methods and enough iodine tabs to cure a gal. or 2 of water. I even have iodine tabs in a pill holder on my car keys.

C'mon now...I know there's more of you out there itching to show your kits. After all yours could be the one that makes someone create one which in turn saves the lives of him, his wife, 3 kids and the family beagle. :D Really I just want to see some more.

LOL well since you mentioned the family beagle, here is Kelly Girl and my wife. I took this pic last Monday.
