Show off your 15's

Who do I talk to about this modification? This is awesome.

This one was in honor of My Father in Law, Mark and his mom in his answered prayers post but I thought I would share here too. One of my favorites.

I posted a review of this knife on its own thread, but I thought I should cross post some of the info here so it lives on this thread as info for people interested in the 15 pattern.

"I just received this Northwoods Broadway Jack (thanks LastRodeo!), and I gotta say I'm pretty much smitten. The 15 size of course is perfect - enough blade but small enough to be unnoticed in your pocket. I LOVE the SheepsCliff blade on this bad boy - visually stunning and very useful. I love the heat treat scale, the logo and the long pull. The Ez-Open notch makes it a joy to pinch open - just fabulous (so great that I'm thinking I need to mod some other 15s!). Lastly, the color of the red sawcut in this run is just sensational. In different lights it appears black, red, maroon, burgundy, plum... really really great. Here is a photo, and I just posted a video with more rambling thoughts about it: https://youtu.be/DsvKt9PcOkA I'm sure Derrick will do another run of these, and I can't wait to see what great covers he comes up with. Bravo!"

That's an interesting variety you have Ron. I like the ivory bone.

Just added this to my 15's.

any one got one of those 15s with that curved tip thing blade? im curious what thats for

That blade shape is called a "razor". It's for one-handed opening. You hook it on a belt loop or corner of your pocket to open.

ah i see, thanks! is it pointy in any way? sorta like a wave feature on a spyderco?

The ones on the GECs are pretty pointy, though some other companies like Case make them less so.

Definitely takes more work to get open than a waved Spyderco. Especially with the half stop, there's no quick flinging open going on.

thanks, i was looking at more 15s and was just curious, much obliged!

my god! it does come double bolstered!

I guess you could call it "double bolstered" in a sense, but usually the butt end "bolster" is just called the "end cap." If there is no "end cap" it's called a "barehead" and if there are no bolsters on either end its called a "shadow." Just thought I'd fill you in since it might help you communicate what you're looking for to other knife knuts.

thanks! i keep thinking its a bolster. end caps! end caps on my knives. thats how i want my traditionals. i was very disappointed to see the 15 bareheaded. someone tell me there is a clip with end cap in ebony wood, please

I want to see a capped 15 with clip and pen blades in the future... hopefully the not too distant future.
