Hi Ice Tigre, I don't mind. Below is a closeup of the back handle of the same knife.

Thanks for putting together this content pappy. A lot of pretty bone handled knives on display.

p.s. 1200s: That is a gorgeous stockman!

Just took my EDC, a Ken Coats Amber Jigged Bone Swayback Wharnie outside for a photo op.

This is a great thread. There are many fantastic examples of bone scales.

Here are a few. Schatt & Morgan 1915 WWI Canadian forces knife; 1930s Saynor prunning knife with smooth bone scales; Wade and Butcher early 1900s; Schrade Walden small jack knife.

Fantastic thread, they should all win and a generous contest too.

Pity I can't (yet)work that digi camera, otherwise....otherwise a toss-up between a Schatt&Morgan Premier,a CASE slutty redlipstick bone...or a new Queen Cutlery Amber-bone or an Old Queen(sic)Brownbone.

Good luck to the winner&that's all of us for being able to view this thread.

You guys got NOTHING on my Jimmy Allen!!!:cool:
LOL
Just kidding
Do you like the initial carving on it?
Looks like F and he gave up on the second letter.....

I've always liked the deep red-brown hue of the bone on this Battle-Axe gunstock. I wish the pictures could do it justice.
Thanks Pappy!

Well I don't have the dough to purchase some of those beautiful knives like some of the guys but I sure do enjoy looking at them. I have one knife out of bone that I like so I'll just share it. Tiny toothpick--maybe others will like it also.

Some say only Case XX can have real redbone. So what is this stuff then??
A U.S.A. era, an XX, and a 10 dot; I love them all!!

Hi,

Man, the beauty of the knives posted here is incredible! But just to show that not all bone has to be jigged. A saw cut bone mini-canoe/butterbean. Just a cheap Rough Rider, but I like it.

And then there's tested Greenbone! How's a guy supposed to pick a favorite?? Just askin'.

Thanks for the contest opportunity. :)

A few of my favorites are this Bob Dozier Arkansas Traveler:

And for a pocketknife, this Ray Cover D2 slipjoint:

And, although I don't carry this little Case 60's era 6229&1/2 Tadpole very often, I think it has some really nice bone:

This is an awesome thread. Thanks guys and Pappy especially for stirring the pot here and offering this great knife (I know because I have two of them.) ;)

Somebody is going to be a happy camper with that new knife.

Dan,

That Electric Knife Co of yours was made by the same company that made that old knife i carry. Bone sure looks familiar. ;)
