Show off your Fiddlebacks and Leather

Hey, all--

If you carry your Fiddleback knife in a canted (angled) cross-draw sheath, I would love to see pictures!

I think that's the setup that might work best for me, but don't want to bug sheath makers until I have a better idea of what to even ask for.

So, I'd like to see who may have already dialed in the design(s) and carry angle(s), etc.-- slightly shallower than 45°, maybe?

I've found a few images of sheaths alone, but that doesn't give me enough to go on.

If possible, please post pictures of how the sheathed knife rides on your belt, with or without you. :D

[I'm currently looking to carry my Patch knife in the sleekest manner possible, but [will] have other knives to sheath as well. I'm too narrow across for horizontal.... ISP sheaths work well in the side pockets carpenter pants and the like, but I would like to find a workable way to carry my knife in a belt sheath.]

Thanks!

~ P.

Forgive the lousy pic. The angle makes the sheath look much larger than it actually is on my belt. I can carry this one all day and forget it's even there. If I've got a shirt on over it, the setup basically disappears. I can slide it over to the 3 o'clock position (well, on my left it would be the 9 o'clock position), or whatever. Perfect for wearing while driving.

One of my very favorites.

RLO Custom Leather (Rick Lowe). He made it specifically for one of my knives, but I don't remember which one. It wasn't this Karda, so you can see in the pic the knife is a bit small for the sheath. I just can't remember what knife it was custom built for.

Hey Tony,

That's nice, thanks for posting a picture of that setup! I've seen these on Rick's site, wished he had a pic of them on-belt but just never got around to sending the request to him.

That sheath looks similar to my cross-draw Kephart sheath by RLO...

I also really like his cross-draw sheaths...
I've got them for my BSS, BFB, and my Kephart.

Wow-- that's a helpful picture, and description. Thx.

Nice! Any and all pictures of your sheathed knives on your belt (so I can see how and where they fall) would be greatly appreciated. :)

Does anyone make/have a sheath that hangs lower off the belt...? I'm not even sure that would be desirable, just still trying to figure out how to make the most of my relatively limited real estate. ;-)

Keep 'em coming.

 Beautiful sheath Abe! The Osage with blue pinstripes looks good too, what knife is that?

Thanks Gus, Brian. Yes, Handyman is correct.

The Handyman is one of my favorite models, and I guess my absolute favorite small model so far, so I have spent a good bit of time looking at one from all different directions :)

Oh and yes, very nice looking sheath by the way Abe! Jason waxes creative lately

Thanks Brian. It's my favourite as well.

Yours is a grail. I find myself admiring it often. 3/32 and that taper [emoji7]

I love that sheath!

It made it to OZ! It looks good. I am glad you like it.

How do you make the stripes? Is it just masking then brushing? Or is t more involved ...

If u don't want to reveal secrets I'm cool with that... just a wonderment more than anything

This is the third or fourth sheath I've made like this... still learning a lot ... a lot different from the wallets and bags I usually do from my leather working hobby.

Wanted a blue one to match my runt ... but blue leather dye is difficult as it rubs off easily

You need to use the oil based dyes and a sealer to avoid dye transfer, black is always the worst offender.
