Show off your traditional knife and Lighter

Love my Zippo. Got because my father carried one most of his life. But I don't smoke cigarettes, just an occasional cigar. It is NOT a good idea to use a Zippo to light a cigar. Wooden matches are best, but a Bic works just fine (don't need a flamethrower [torch]!).

Honestly I've almost 100% coverted over to bib overalls 🤠👍View attachment 2046518
For those of you who haven’t tried bib overalls..get thee down to Tractor Supply and try them!
Theres a pocket for everything. Where they‘re not appropriate..I don’t go anyway.
My only advise is, don‘t wait to the last minute in the restroom, untill you know what you’re doing.👍

Good morning all! I mentioned in some previous posts that I had a camo lighter that was sentimental to me. My wife's close family friend (arguably a second mother) gave this to me a few years before she passed. I didn't know it at the time, as I had other zippo-style lighters. But, this was my first ever true zippo brand zippo 😝 So, I guess you could argue this is the one that started it all. Also pictured is a 6318HE. I like it quite a bit although I am on the hunt for another case stockman pattern 😅

hahahh love the lighter. Don't see too many double sided graphics, although they are definitely out there. And, I'm not sure about the knife! 🤣 I have quite a few fixed blades and I consider them traditional. Wasn't sure if this thread was targeted to folders or not, but I don't see any reason not to include all traditional knives pictured with your lighters! And, case is generally going to count as traditional in my book although that is an interesting pattern!

I agree bibs are awesome, I prefer big smith brand, but I want to try Key brand. My advice on the restroom, watch where your straps go! Nothing worse than a soggy shoulder strap, except a toilet water soggy strap! 🤢

I love that Case! I had no idea that existed until now! Let's see this isn't a overalls and traditional knives thread (this give me an idea...🤔) so I reckon I might at least TRY to follow the rules...20230115_103508.jpg
Best I can do fellas

Nothing wrong with that! I assume that that's a Rough Ryder pruning blade folder? I have a lot of blueberry bushes on my property that I prune. Same for blackberries. Do these blades work well in practice? Been thinking about trying one out! Thanks!!

Absolutely traditional. Gerber had a boot knife in the 70's/80's - I used to own one. I like your Case better - handle has a very nice look to it. OH
Ps I cannot answer the question the Zippo asks, but I have my opinion!
And I never wore boots.
The lighter was a gift to my Dad, who got the idea it was 1 of 1 and is worth a small fortune. No point bursting his balloon🤷‍♂️

Nice Arizona Memorial lighter! I've never been to Hawaii, but if I do make it there, the USS Arizona Memorial will be the top stop on my list. For today I have my Bird Dog Zippo and Kabar Medium Stockman in my pocket. Today being MLK Day also marks the 20th anniversary of mobilization and deployment of my ARNG unit to OIF. I was the unit commander and received the phone call alerting and activating the unit on MLK Day 2003. I was carrying this Kabar as my EDC back then and carried both it and the Zippo to OIF in my pocket. The coffee mug I bought at a Army-Navy surplus store in Spring Lake NC after our return to Fort Bragg in July 2003. OH

Thanks! I've never been either. And, he clearly never fired it. So, I have no intentions of doing so.

Great story! Thanks for sharing!! Very cool that you still have all of this stuff. As I'm sure you're aware by know l now, I'm a sucker for stockmans 😆

Cigar newbie question here: Why are Zippos not ideal for lighting? I'm assuming the fluid can influence the taste. Is there more to it than that?
