Cool! I thought mebby it was the back of an old Marbles (Gladstone, MI) pocket compass.
Those used to be popular when I was a lad in BSA. I remember a couple guys in my platoon had one.
Me? I had an Army Issue black phosphate coated brass case Lenstatic compass, that my Uncle Bob gave me after he got out.
Yes. The coating was pretty much wore off, and the exposed brass had a great patina. Wish I knew what happened to it... Oh well. After almost 60 years, it don't matter ... Just another of "life's" mysteries.
(Does anyone have any idea why "life" has so daRn many mysteries?!?

I got back to basics and

got down to brass tacks 
Great picture!! It surprising how well the age and patina matches on those two pieces.I had mentioned in a previous post that I had a Case CV Mini Trapper in Chestnut Bone. Here it is! I had to send the first one I received back for a chip in the bone. The second one was pretty on point! Not perfect fit and finish, but as close to it as I could expect at the price point. I really like the bone coloring on this one!

I've been needing a sodbuster pattern for quite a while. Unfortunately, it somehow keeps falling down the priority list. I like yours quite a bit though! Orange is a great color for a knife like that. Easy to see if you set it down! And some very interesting lighters to go along with it!

Don’t smoke but I do use a lighter a lot for making paracord lanyards so I picked this model that zippo had available

Glad you only use it for paracord. I believe that lighter is pewter? I like the design!
