Show off your traditional knife and Lighter

Something different, pocket carry vs belt sheath...but the same...date codes😅...

Very nice! I've been on the hunt for one of those 1932 repros at a decent price. And, can't go wrong with the 110. Really cool you got both from 1991!! If I can find the year I'm looking for in the 1932 solid brass repros, I may have a similar picture in the future! 😅

I'm glad you have something of his that you can hold onto. And I love the handles on that knife! 😃
Thanks. It’s 6.5 bonestag with a lot of pocket wear from that lighter and then dyed black. Then, about a year of wear and then polished out.

Here’s the pile side for ya.

My house burnt a few years back and the lighter was in my pocket so it was saved. Lost an older one with a hunter on it. Think it was from 68. Lost all my tools and dads too.

Now all I have of dads is the lighter, an arrow t50 stapler and a hardhat. Least all I can think of. Shame he wasn’t a gun person and left only a cheap buck 110 copy. I’m not going to make those mistakes with my boy!

Sorry to hear about all of that with your house and belongings. It sounds like no one got hurt, which is good. My Great Aunt lost her son a long time ago when he was only 20 years old in a car accident. Her attached garage was recently struck by lighting while they were sleeping and by the time they realized what was going on it was too late. I felt terrible because virtually all of the pictures of their son and his belongings were ruined or destroyed. No amount of insurance money can fix that. Luckily, my mom had some pictures to give them. But, that's still painful nevertheless.

On a lighter note (no pun intended hahahh), I think the dye job came out really well! I dig the color transitions near the bolsters. I'm thinking about dying a rough ryder stockman I bought a while ago a darker blue. Maybe this is the push I needed to get it done!

Thanks. Yeah the dye was real even to start. It got lighter as it wore in. My wife and I both love it. It is black inside but in the sunlight you see all these subtle tones showing through.

Yeah the fire wasn’t too bad. I lost almost everything I had. But no lose of life except the pet snake. Saved the dogs and cat. Of note to what I miss, marlin 1894c rifle. NEF 20 gauge single shot, and a Remington 41 targetmaster 22 single shot, smiths sharpening stone set I’d had since I was a kid. A bunch of hand tools I’d had since I was a kid.

That’s got to be rough on your great aunt. I can’t imagine losing my son. My wife misses the pictures we lost in the fire, me not as much.

I'm very sorry for all of that ☹️

It was. But, life goes on. We just have to cherish what time we have on this earth each and every day. I think this is part of why people enjoy collecting things like pocket knives and lighters so much. Just another way to pay respect to things of the past and appreciate a new day.

Speaking of a new day, good morning all and I hope your day goes well! As promised, a hat, a pipe lighter, and of course a slipjoint 😝 This is a 1980 Case Muskrat I picked up that I like quite a bit. It has easy opens on both sides, which is nice!

My butane insert arrived yesterday, I put it in a street chrome case. Not sure I like it...if I hold the lever down for more than a few seconds it stops. It's the jet stream flame not the yellow flame one...if that makes a difference.

I don't have much experience with butane. But, in my vague memory, I feel like I never had that problem?

And, I like that canoe pattern. Looks like a solid knife!

Thanks, it is an AG Russell/Chuck Buck collaboration, AG designed it, Buck built it.. One blade, the spear, 154CM, the wharncliffe, S30V, it's nice knife.
I went on YT and found several clips that talked about the butane inserts and solutions to problems. I did follow the directions on one and got the problem solved. Works fine now.

Preston, I also discovered that YouTube is your friend when you get into something that is new to you (or new again after a couple decade break). Glad you got squared away. OH

Here is my only belt buckle. Ive worn it constantly for about 8 years now. Y’all are lucky, I don’t take many pics of it cause i don’t have a spare.

There's a thread for belt buckles and knives, and hats and knives, besides this one for lighters and knives. Your one pic can cover multiple threads! lol
Thanks. It don’t see much weather, if ya know what I mean.
The roof of my shed hangs low enough I can't park my bigger buckles under there much any more 😯

You boys need to do like my old grandpop used to do, hike them pants up high - his pants always looked like they were nearly up to his armpits!

Ps edited to add a picture. Found this slide of my Pop (and his son, my Uncle Howard) from 1976 - see how he handled the pants height? Shorter than my uncle, but his pants are higher - keep that belt overtop the belly. For some reason that impressed itself in my mind and I consider it one of my good memories of him. They were both electrical contractors, you should have seen Pop sharpen a Klein wire skinning knife on a grinding wheel in the old, dark warehouse - shower of sparks looked like the Fourth of July.
