Show some textures,share,discuss

I changed up the texture on my new zing a little bit, I usually stay away from cheaper productions but needed a knife in a bad way when I was out of town so I picked one up and made it my own, fun little project.

I missed this thread the first time around, it pre-dates me, there is some great stuff in here.

Hey , Thought I'd try to resurrect this thread again . I love the contributions !! Textures rule !!!

I liked this thread, nice to see it come back up.
I've noticed some interesting texturing going on with your knives lately, Monsieur Onion:thumbup::cool:

Des Horn's trademark fish scale titanium bolster texturing creates a lot of 'movement' as the knife is turned in the light:

Jeff Harkin's textured 416 steel interframe (he refers to the cracked pattern as "The Thing" engraving, as in "It's Clobberin' time!" :):

Nicely textured iron patina on this Kinai school tsuba, c. 1675 (old Japanese sword fittings have some of the most beautiful patination and texturing I've seen anywhere):

Bill Burke Bowie with hamon and stag, notice the buttcap:

Harvey Dean El Diablo in West Texas Wind damascus, stag and Paul Long sheath, lotta texture there:

Burt Foster subhilt, laminated ss/carbon blade, ironwood handle, damascus fittings:

Don Fogg Dagger, great texture:

Charles "Chuck" Gedraitis-Rados ladder pattern damascus, and fluted black lip pearl:

Rick, that is the coolest knife!

STeven, I was lucky enough to handle that outstanding BF Subhilt when Burt taught the last week of my "Intro" school at Haywood in "09" !

Glory be to God for dappled things—
For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;
For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches’ wings;
Landscape plotted and pieced—fold, fallow, and plough;
And all trades, their gear and tackle and trim.

All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
Praise him.
